View from rear showing "H" crossmember that holds the light bar in position. "H" brace fabricated to hold Classic Design Light Bar in place on 1985 McLaren convertible. These are Ford Mustang Convertible rocker panel reinforcement pieces I added to my McLaren. It is a thick metal reinforcement that rivits along the entire lower edge of the rocker. I added additional bracing to the underside of my McLaren. These are Ford X Braces used on Mustang Convertible and T-Roof models.

Detial of some of the clearance notches that had to be made in the Classic Design bar to clear the McLaren top mechanism. The Classic Design Concepts bar includes an LED rear brake light. This is a Classic Design roll-bar that I installed in the McLaren. There is no bar made to fit the McLaren, so I had to make a number of modifications to the bar and the car to make it fit. Here is a picture of the Sony stereo system I installed in the McLaren. Three 400 Watt amps, a 10 Disc CD changer, and TWO 4-Disc MD (Mini-Disc) Changers. I replaced the two storage bins in the rear compartment with two 8" Subwoofers.

These are the 16" MSW wheels I put on the McLaren, along with a set of 50 series Goodyear "Gatorback" tires. Combined with lowering, the larger tires & wheels really made the car look "lean & mean". This is one of the 15" original equipment wheels on my McLaren (wheel made by MSW), with the original BFG T/A tires My McLaren in 1987, shortly after I acquired it from my Dad. Over the years, I made a number of subtle modifications, including lowering, chassis stiffening, and adding a custom sound system. My Dad bought this car new in 1986. I got it from him in 1987. I sold it to my Brother (Dahberg) in 2002.
