Has anyone seen this style that v80nly is selling?

I looked through a bunch of pics for 85 cars and they are all perforated.

I went & looked. (Man, those guys over there are just as hard core to the bone as are we.)
My guess, and it's purely a guess, is that these door panels are from a Capri GS or an earlier year LX or L series. I've never seen them on any RS.

Mike, check your mail box today!!!

Those are new to me. I prefer the perforated look.

I bought a set of those for my Capri and I believe them to be 83-84 panels used on 4 or 6 cyl cars with vinyl seats and that. I have seen a tan set like this as well, also in an 83-84. However, the grey ones I bought were supposedly, according to the owner, from an 85. Just speculation really.

THEY MUST BE 1985-86 PANELS! NOTE THE LOWER LIGHT GREY CARPETTING!

83-84 Panels did have that "faux" leather (non-perforated) upper area but they had DARK GREY carpetting!

Or am I missing something?

I'm going to go back to my upholstery books!

NO NO NO! Try AGAIN!

SVO door panels were even MORE different. They are "FUZZY" on top. Very distinctive!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7933871038&category=33696&sspagename=WDVW

The also do not have the embossing that is on the GT/RS/GS/LX panels.

I asked for the VIN.

I bet its a VERY EARLY 85 Capri.

I'm thinking those panels are like the SEATS we saw in that other EARLY 85 Capri....a cross between 84 and 85 materials.

I think Sandy and FoxFleet are right. They may be for either 85 GS or RS cars....I'm thinking GS....but.....

There is a guy at FEP who contacted me and said he has the same weird panels. His car is one of those "built like the RS/5.0L but with the GS badge on the back". His vin is not that early.

Craziness.

Friend of mine had an 85 GS with the 5.0. He had the door panels like the regular 85 rs and 86 rs had. It may be one of those "Let's choose what we have in our warehouse" routines since sales are dropping....
