I think that I shall open up a new can of worms. From deep within the bowels of the Sandy Block ascMcLaren inter-office corporate structure of highly secret intelligence information of the ascMcLaren COUPE build, I first ask the congregation who knoweth thy contenth of thy holy D32-ascMcLaren coupe build? Raiseth thine hand ! _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

My left hand is now raised.

Now, first off, I am doing this from memory, so don't send out the killer bees on me if G_D forbid I miss one! (This to you-know-who)!
D32ascMcLaren was the computer-factory code for non-conventional trim application applied to the Capri RS that was intended to become an ascMcLaren Coupe. Herewith what I can recall right now, I'll try & recall them all...
Front:
Install Capri GS lower front under bumper fascia, rather than the one for the RS.
Omit the CAPRI chrome lettering from the front hood's forward edge.
Side:
Triggers the "Sports Delete Pkg." which would be the deletion of the lower bodyside, under rear bumper flat charcoal paint, and paint those lower areas like the remainder of the car.
Rear:
Use the rear panel, surrounding the taillamps & license plate cove from the GS, which is flat black, (because the one from the RS is color-keyed ~ and looks horrible when viewed through the lexon taillamp covers that ascMcLaren would provide.)
Omit the nameplate "CAPRI" and "RS" from the hatch.
Interior:
Use seat covers with matched gray piping, rather than the standard red piping.
Triggers the "Radio Delete Option" ~ thereby deleting the standard Am Fm Stereo.
ADDS: The Radio Prep. Pkg. which is the cutouts in the rear panels in the cargo area, covered with speaker grilles; the front fender antenna and all related wiring and hardware front speakers (3) & wiring.
Install the RS fog light switch in the normal location and all related hardware & wiring to front of car, for ascMcLaren installed Hella Brand Fog Lights.
I think I got it all. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Don't forget the deletion of the "5.0" badges on the side too.
Yeah that is the list we have all grown to know and love....so where are the worms?

Yup, thanks Mike, I forgot that "5.0" badge, deleting that also was in the D32.
It seems to me like there WAS something else, as well, but I cannot recall what it was, just seems like I forgot something else.... Ummmmm. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

The midnight blue paint? on an RS car. That was another thing for the D32 wasn't it?

I also don't see any mention of the B303 camshaft.
And of course the "who knows if it was ever really done"... different rocker arms, valve springs, and exhaust upgrade.
Maybe one day someone will let their all original Coupe be disected for analysis so that the "questionable" items can be proven or dis-proven

Mike, I didn't include the blue paint, because it was not across the board. As we know there were Smoke Charcoal Grey ones, Oxford White ones, Raven Black ones and Platinum Silver ones. Therefore a special paint code was used (I think 999) on the Coupes to be made in that color.
Euro #13, as amatter of fact, a man who is very knowledgabe Re: Fords; blew his McLaren's engine at Lime Rock. He took it out and took it all apart to study the beast. This was many many many years ago ... I'd say around 1990-91 time frame. He found the B-303 Cam and unique valve springs and exhaust construction. He did not find different rocker arms.
A woman in Florida with a 1985 blew her engine and Ford replace it under original warrentee (1989) and the Tech kept the blown engine. He torn it down and reported nothing different from a stock 5.0 in any other 'Stang or Capri. The Jury will always be out on this.
I asked several different people AT ASC ~ and also got differring answers from even them !! _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

My engine "appears" to have never been played with internally. The only mods to the car were junkyard "fixes" like an aftermarket carb and plugged hoses and the like. It still has its stock egr, valve covers, Ford headers, correctly date coded intake manifold, heads and block. Before putting the engine back in, all my dad did was pull the pan, look over the crank, and do a compression test on all the cylinders. I don't believe the heads or internals have ever been off the car.
Someday it will need to be torn down and inspected.....I hope to find some cool stuff inside....especially since my car was towards the beginning of the 85 production run.....but with my luck probably not.
