time for a Cancer update.

Treatments are still every other Tuesday, 10 to 3:30. They say that 5% of the total remains in you. therefore, at 16 infusions to-date, I now have 80% in me. The "aftermath" period of 5-7 days, is now very hard to adjust to. Many stomach aches, dizzy spells, days I cannot drive, and days I go into a supermarket food store and instantly get DiZzY and need to go sit in the Jeep while wife Karen shops. Burning and numb fingers 24 / 7. Ya sorta kinda eventually get used to it. {{Na, not really}} Sad
Crucial numbers are excellent at 3.5 (three point five) White cell blood count is A-OK Blob ~ but most of the time I just feel "sick" sorta kinda.
Amazing what we humans CAN get used to, in time.
I have not seen my pals, the Priest & the Rabbi, as of late.
The age of those stricken seems to be constantly going down (meaning younger) ~ This is disturbing. Trust me, this has been ALOT to endure, and I would not wish it on my worst enemy! I'd much rather have both of my legs broken than to go through this...

McLaren-Wise, if if if if I am up to it, tomorrow, the Charcoal / Orange COUPE will venture OUTSIDE (a scary place) Crying or Very sad and drive 7 miles to a nice little old fashioned independent auto service shop. I scoped it out yesterday, and it seems A-OK
Oil & Filter change using a Motorcraft Oil Filter
Air Filter Change using a MotorCraft unit for a 1986 GT/RS New Old Stock
NJ State Inspection (first time ever.) She's wearing a 1986 New Car Dealer inspection sticker !!! (I hope I don't get stopped on the 7 mile ride over there !!
and, ahhh, lets see, also a little anti-freeze added to the reservor tank, and Air in tires to like 34 Lbs each.
Then, the 7 mile ride back home & by THAT time i'll be ripe for some Hi Blood Pressure medicine! Bang Head
Put her away in the garage and kiss her g'night until May, 09.
Karen is going too.....just in case I get a dizzy spell, & cannot drive home.
She promises me no more than 1 burnout from her. Smash
((It's all okay, as she is a fabulous driver!!! !!!))

Good luck on that seven-mile roundtrip.  Maybe for a few bucks, the guy would make a house call and save you some distress.

Sandy,

You should consider NJ Collector status for your McLarens. No inspections, you just need to prove you have a collector insuirance policy and they make sure your speedometer works. Nobody sits in your car and abuses it on the dyno and brade pad. And, in 2011, the 1986 is ready for Historic plates.

75 Coug, it's 7 miles EACH way !! = 14 ! Oy Vey

Bob, this place does not have a Dyno, so no worry 'bout that.
I do have collector car insurance, but no collector car plates.
My Plate is "MCLAREN"

Bob, today the muffler finally gets done! 2 years since you were here.
I wish I coulda found a NOS unit, but the only ones around are OOS (Old Old Stock) still attached to cars in junk yards.

Time to leave... Rolling Eyes

Trauma sets in!
I was made to leave the car & go (come) home! She is all alone ! Crying or Very sad
I cannot have them do state inspection as my stupid Collector car insurance company GRUNDY - forgot to postal mail me my I.D. cards (as I just found out, this AM) for the 3 McLarens & the Caddy.) So.... I will ride home with my new car dealer inspection decal in the front window. Heck, the car looks brand new, so I am good to go.
The man at the place could not believe I found a NOS 1986 Air Filter !
(Hint: You'd be amazed at what is "upstairs" or in the loft over the parts departments in the rash of new car dealers presently going out of business! I also found a Motorcraft Oil Filter for 1985/1986 Ford Mustang/Mercury Capri V-8 302 engines. Box had 1/4 inch of aged dust on it, but was factory sealed. The fan belts were bad, dried up, brittle. So, I didn't buy any of them.

So, he will call me when she is done. Around 2:30 - 3pm EST.
I walked out, sad. 1st time I ever left her alone!
I saw teardrops dripping from the taillamps.

My wife followed me there in the Cherokee. She said that "at least 8 people were spining around to look at it. Especially at traffic lights." I saw only 1 looking, and a taxi driver pointed at it to his passenger.
I churped the tires just once, playing a bit. They need air in them. They are like at 28 pounds.
The roads here in NJ are so so so baaad! Pot holes abound, as do former construction sites poorly repaired (always a drop down & followed by a bump up - way on earth can't the make them LEVEL ??)
In a McLaren ya really feel it. In the Caddy, it's like they were all re-paved overnight.

Ha Ha!
It left and it's not home, yet. It had to stay overnight. I went over to visit her. He's just half done with her. He is THE best tech/owner I ever met. He gained my 100% trust 1-2-3. I feel okay with it all. Ya gotta love those little independent, privately owned shops with the owner around 55 years who got into it because he loved cars!

Well, I went to visit Grey-Mac in the hopital amd she is awaiting her muffler transplant, scheduled for tomorrow, mid-day. She has had most all of her fluids changed and air in her tires, and additional anti freeze for the coming winter and new filters for both oil & air to keep her lungs clean.
She's indoors (rain heavy tomorrow, and he promised to keep her inside, all day.)
Tomorrow the muffler and Friday AM NJ State inspection and the 7 mile trip home, back to her "bedroom".
Her brothers & sisters miss her. even though they all live in different "condos" in & around the area.

Doorbell !

Men in white coats are here.

All...."NO"

Shop is like hospital clean. You cannot imagine. Spotless, comes to mind.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ also comes to mind
Taking 3 days because I, Sandy, ordered the wrong muffler, and he had to locate. Being delivered this AM
Also I am awaiting my Insurance card in the mail, thatwas never mailed to me, by the company. I had to call them & complain. they postal mailed it to me yesterday. I should get it in today's mail. Then I will take it over there & he can do state inspection. If it does not come today, then it will come tomorrow, and I'll take it over tomorrow. Today, it's gonna rain and I don't wanna take it in the rain. He understands that and is keeping her inside the building in a corner. So, either way, I will take her tomorrow, Friday.
