They were ordered as GS cars, with the optional six cylinder engine and applied a D32ascMcLaren code to them. Once they arrived at Autry Avenue, Livonia plant, they were treated the same as a V-8, with regard to conversion. The owner of that black car installed his own Recaros that somebody no doubt recovered in cloth. The 6-Cyl cars came with the standard low line buckets, (cloth) and as an option, ascMcLaren cut 'em off and recoved in leather. It was perforated leather with ascMcLaren done in stitching on the seat's backrest, between your shoulder blades. Colors were Regatta Blue or Sand Beige. The cars were either white, red or black.
The pictured car also has had the custom door panels installed, along with the wood kit. The 6 Cyl cars did not get that. They employed the Ford supplied base door panel, and standard dash trim. The rear tonneau on pictured car & roll bar are also aftermarket.
All other things were as was on the V-8 (wheels, 2-seater, etc, etc.) there were NO sticks, as the stick was N.A. with the 6. The tranny was a different Automatic from that in the V-8. Only 8 were made, according to records. I have found 3. 1 in each color. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
