Yeah, but most people don't have a clue what it is... To the casual observer, $11k is alot for 8yo Mustang. I received an email a couple of months back from someone who has two 1994 Texaco/ Andretti Mustangs and he wanted to sell them, but no one new what they are and were unwilling to part with $8k to buy one.... |

Here is a pic of the 1994 Mario Andretti/Texaco Give-a-way cars. 35 identical 1994 Mustang convertibles were given away by Texaco. They were red and had matching red 3-spoke wheels. From what I can gather, there were some other interior upgrades as well. All the cars had a pinstripe signature of Mario Andertti and scoops on the rear qtr panels. Texaco was the sponsor of the Andretti IRL racing cars, hence the tie in.
I have don't have any more info on them at this point. A owner had contacted me and sent the photo.
I remember the contest and I badly wanted the then 'all new' 1994 Mustang. While not a big fan of red cars, I'd take a free one anyday. |

On my God, it THAT car ugly! That "Signature" stripe that looks like the striping machine had a heart attack en route and those "Discount House" 3-spokers, painted red no less.... Yeeech! The scoop is okay. It's no wonder I never heard of that Texaco / Andretti Mustang! In comparasion, the Woodward Dream Cruise car is beyond georgous ! _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. That car may be ugly, and it is by my standards, but it 's sure no Avanti.
(Disclaimer, I'm referring to the new Avanti, not the nice looking older ones. Sorry Sandy ) _________________ Tom S.
