I appreciate it as well. Don't take a comment like that too seriously. Comedy is about the only thing I have left - besides a drink or two of scotch now and then.... Laughing

Sorry.

You guys with 85s don't need it unless you have very late build cars anyways. You need the Kenwood KRC2001.

I got it....

I missed one on ebay about a week or so ago with 2 amps also.... went for 20 or 30 some dollars....

This one went for twice as much more....

Also scored a kenwood 2001 last week pretty cheap (30 some bucks)....

My Kenwood died in August, '85 and ASC was warrantying them with 7272s.

Just FYI that an early '85 could use a 7272 in that light.

I also agree Mike - that is definitely interesting.

I always thought the kenwood use was weird since the brochure shows an alpine in the car as well as states an alpine. And the pic is not of a 7272.... Only 6 'ice cubes' instead of 8 'cubes' on the right side.

Alpine used this design for years. There are alot of models you could probably use to resemble the brochure - at least as good as the picture shows....

Looks like the 7263 model they used on the brochure coupe....

Yeah, I dunno why they switched.

The more I try to reason it, the more it confuses me.

BTW, the alpine in the brochures is a 7263. Not a 7272.

Right on.

This is why its confusing. They started with the Alpine 7263 (mostly in the verts with amp) and Kenwood 2001 in the coupes (with no amp) and wound up with just the Alpine 7272 in late 85.

No idea why they put one in the other. Can't think of a technical reason as they were about the same. Why not just pick one brand/model and do all Coupes/verts the same?

Because it makes too much sense for just one radio.... Laughing

I would assume an order of the same radio could be had in all 85 and 86's from ford right ? (premium sound - with the amp, or non premium)....

Was their any difference with the verts radio options vs. the coupes (rs's) when they ordered them from ford with their 'delete' stuff????
