An Imperial popped up for sale in the small town where I grew up (and where my family still resides). Sandy, I thought that you might get a kick out of it.

I wonder whether this car came from the local Chrysler dealer. It went out of business in the late '60s or early '70s, but the owner did not sell off his inventory. Instead, he had an entire lot full of new and used Chryslers and Plymouths that sat on his lot or in his showroom for nearly twenty years.
He finally sold them off in the late '80s or early '90s, including a 'Cuda with fewer than a hundred miles on it. _________________ Robert

The Good and the so so.........
The Good: The car, as anyone can see is near mint, if not totally mint.
The Bad: The "reverse 2-tone" as we used to call it - is "odd" in many serious collector's eyes. It would be better if the white was on top and the blue on the bottom.
The Crown 4-Dr Hdt, is always the least rare model. Now if tjhis car was a Crown COUPE, OR a Crown Convertible OR a LeBaron, then.....
WOW
Crown 4-Dr. Hdts bring the least money. They were the best seller, so they are not all that rare. Of course, all Imps are rare, but I am speaking of rare among Imperials.
I had the rarest of the rare, and like a dope, I sold it.
I bought (used) from the widow of a Cry-Co dealership in Southern NJ her personal car. A 1968 Crown Convertible (last year for the Convert & it had 3,800 miles on it IN 1970 !) She was selling it. It had every single option on it, from Auto dimming headlites to delay off lites AND bucket seats, and the first ever 8-Track Tape and power locks & trunk and all else, and it was in the ONLY new color, for 1968.
I paid $5,000 for it. The window sticker was over $8,000. It ran like a banshee with the optional TNT Engine Pkg. which was a higher compresion ratio
a Hi-Po cam and true straight thru dual exhaust system and 3.21 Sure Grip Rear.
I sold it in 1975 to buy my 1975 LeBaron Coupe with the Crown Roof Pkg. in triple black with sun roof & every option offered. Had her until 1982, when I bought the Goldenrod lemon. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Just counted 'em up. Between my Dad, my Mom and I from 1957 thru 1982 we owned 10 Imperials
1957, 1960, 1963, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1972, 1975, 1978 and a 1982.
All LeBarons, except the 1968 Crown Convertible of mine. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

What color ? I guess Silver.
Was it running? EFI is AFU on them.
I try not to think too much about Imperials, as I am still kicking myself over selling my 1968 Crown Convert, and they also make me think of my parents, and all the good (and sometimes the bad) events that we shared together. I went to the cemetary just before Rosh Hashanah and per usual I stood there and wept. My extended family, cousins and uncle also bought Imperials. We were all friendly with the dealer, and my Dad even played tennis with him - so, 'ya, we were close with them. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
