Only got a couple seconds. Just picked up on Saturday night. 1986 ASC Mclaren coupe number 20. I know little about the car except that it was in an innercity falling apart garage in Northen Massachusetts for almost 15 years. It is virtually rust free. The frame rails still have original paint on them. I will post some pics and more info later. I have a bunch of work to do today, just wanted to check in. Thank you for putting together a teriffic site like this. Car is black with gray interior.

Thanks for the welcomes. I have many questions I hope can be answered. I wont ask them all at once. Heres one, I notcied my grilles says Mercury. I noticed SOME of the cars say ASCMclaren. Did they come both ways? |

I think your ascMcLaren logo fell off. I heard it was glued over the Mercury emblem.
Correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm sure someone will! |

When I purchased my 86 'vert last year the emblem and the Mercury logo was broken off. I had an extra Mercury logo and contacted Hank who has the ascMcLaren emblems in stock. Use two-sided tape from 3M and just trim it around the Mercury Logo.

Correct, the ascMcLaren badge goes right over the Merc badge.

85's had the MERCURY badge.
86's had the ascMcLaren stuck over the MERCURY badge.
This was due to Ford not wanting to have their name on the car.
