Thank you really! I am pleased with your interest for my car.
I confess I do not understand everything. Sorry.
The car is black and has about 24,800 miles. _________________ '88 ascMcLaren #1268#

Your convertible top is a replacement, not the original. I know this because white tops were only available in the final year these were made, that would be 1990. With the grey interior that I see, your original roof would have been black.
If you want to send me your VIN (serial # (begins 1FAB) I can tell you more about your car. If you do not want to post it on the web, say so, and give me your e-mail address and I'll send you my e-mail address, to send to me your serial number. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. Wow, awesome find! I love to hear stories like this.
Its a good thing it was stored with the top up in that barn.
It looks like someone changed out the fog lights to a different style if I'm seeing clearly.
It'll look great with a black top.
Congrats! Looks like its a complete car. _________________ 1988 ASC McLaren #688 |

Karkov, might you have the last owner's name? I have a pretty decent sized Registry. I might be able to find the original owner, OR a prior owner's name. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I FOUND YOUR CAR !!
Okay, It was ordered through FETTE FORD, located in Clifton, New Jersey....THE next town over from where I live. This is aBIG DEAL,
as on the master listing (I have) there were over well over 100 dealers tht ordered, at least one !
Fette is a real old time dealer, been around since Television was invented (I Think).
Fette also owns an EXPORT COMPANY, to export cars, across the pond !
That Export Company is "Matter Export" ~
I would think that there might be a pretty good chance that Fette or Matter may have something on your car.....
I would not call them. They'd brush you off. BUT a letter addressed to the General Manager and / or The Owner (sorry, I do not know his name), Might be Fette, at one time the Fette Family owned it, but they may have sold the name with the business, or a FETTE may still be involved! I don't know.
Fette Ford - 1147 Route # 46 East, Clifton, 07015 New Jersey U.S.A.
I would write a nice letter to them asking if they have ANY Export paper-work on your car. Supply them with the full VIN and the distenation for your car, (Iassume France). If you are wealthy, I'll supply you with their telephone number, but all you will get is a huge tele bill. They want to sell cars, not dig thru old sales paperwork, BUT a nice letter to the G.M. or OWNER might work wonders! Good Luck

If you do a quick search of the web, there are translation places.
You type it all in French and it will print it out for you, in English.
You want to look for:
FRENCH TO ENGLISH
(I am assuming it's the language barrier, thats the problem.)
I can't promise that I can do it for you, as I am once again going into the local hospital, to continue fighting my cancer.
Also I may be going away after the next treatment, for the
Jewish Holy Days. If you can wait 'til then, I'll see what I can do. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Wonderful find! We should all be so lucky. congrats on your car!
The one thing I would like to mention is that if you go with the ASF42"P" Plugs instead of C you will be happier, the P are platinum, basicaly 100,000 mile plugs. The C are copper and need to be changed every 36,000 miles. When I pulled my "P" plugs out of my heads, they looked like new, even @ 100k. |
