Karen & I went out to eat, last night. We wanted to try a new place and it was very early, lke 4:45 PM. So, we went to ths place that has those light pecan colored floors, some indoor Palms, sorta kinda Polynecian aura. We were not stunned at the fact that we were all alone. There were no other diners. So, the young girl comes over & hands us 2 menus. Karen says she feels like getting a burger with a slice of raw onion on it. I agree - I'll get the same & some french fried onions, a Coke (they don't serve R/C)
and a diet Coke for Karen. So, we are like ready to order, but the young lady had not returned, just uet. Sandy looks at the prices on the menu.
HOLY MOLLY! "Karen, look at the prices!!" She looks. We look at each other. Karen says, "lets get out, quick, before she comes back!
WE leave 1-2-3 GONE !!!
This was a nce place, but definately NOT fancy, elegant, Five star ....NO!

Here were the prices.... Hamberger, any what you like it, with whatever toppings you like, comes with 2 slices of tomato & a leaf or lettice...
R-U ready?

$25.00 EACH !!! Fifty Bucks for 2 burgers, WITHOUT drinks, nor ANYRHING Else !! Want French Fries?? No you don't !

F.F, are $6.50 Those Cokes? $2.75 each

So....... 2 burgers, 1 - (to be shared) F.F. & 2 Sodas = $62.00

Plus 6% Tax ($4.00 + Tip? $10 bucks = $76.00 for 2 Burgers, 1 large (only size offered) French Fries & 2 Cokes

Sound like a deal to me Crying or Very sad

Thats as bad as the "Johnny Rockets" on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The burgers were $12.50. Burgers. No lettuce, no tomato, no onion or pickle. Just burger. They got mad when I asked if the bun was extra.....right before we walked out.

i would have to tip $13 on a $66... my wife works for red lobster. 20% for good or bad service. i am not alowed to tip less then 20% but i can tip more then 20%...

we did have burgers at a cheeseburger in paradise when we were on maui. i think we paid around $40 for our meal. but we are talking about maui raised beef.

my favorite burger is from the red coat tavern on woodward (also one on orchard lake). i think they are close to $15 but they are THE BEST. they have even been voted #1 burger in detroit MANY times. they also use piedmontese beef. its very good yum.

Sons like a total rip.

PERHAPS... if said burgers were Kobe (wagyu) it would be worth it.
Other than that, no hamburger is worth that crazy price.

Well truthfully, they were not your everyday supermarket chopped meat, as they were Prime meat and Kosher - but still, $25 each is more than I was goning to spend.

Sandy: You're Jewish. I'm Scotch and there is no way in hell I'd pay $25.00 for ANY burger, unless, of course, it's gold leaf buns!!

My BBQ beef sandwiches are much adored and the most I've paid for ground Chuck is $1.89. Fine with us!! Of course, I charge the wife $25.00 for 2 sandwiches. She never pays.

Scotch is a Religion ? I never knew that!

We are not really big meat eaters. I prefer salads & potatoes & some pastas. Fruit & Vegis, too.

The Summer after I graduated high school, I worked in a meat provision processing house. (They use "house" as others use "corporation" ....)

I cn tell you, because of that.... I will ONLY consume a Kosher Hot Dog !!!!!

I a m a big turkey eater, too. Thin sliced, top quality, or Kosher, either or.... with hot brown gravy, big pile of home-made mashed potates and some lettice & tomato is a BIG favorite here.

So, then, you now know what to get, when i come over, next week.
Wait...NO! Next week is a Chemo week & I can't taste anything.
It all tastes like Alpo Meaty chunks !!! Smile

You're welcome here anytime. They have turkey breasts on sale this week. May pick up a couiple for the freezer. They cook up real good in the slow cooker with a little Olive Oil rubbed on them and sprinkled lightly with Italian Seasoning and salt.

Next day we make a big salad with: Lettuce, onion, celery, peas, chopped turkey and Miracle Whip. I can taste it now!!
