I was just checking out Recaro's web site and was wondering which series of seats were optional in the ascMcLaren Capri?

I think I read the data in this Forum correctly that they were "N" series seats. However, I couldn't find any of those listed on the Recaro site for the '80s.

http://www.recaro-nao.com/INDEX_FRAMES.HTML

and then click on Company, Product Gallery, and then Car Seats - 1980-1989 to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks. I finally found that picture in the '70s section under the Idealseat III group. That seat was called the Orthoped and was made from '79-'94. So, I gather that this seat is different than the Recaro seats that were put in the '79 Mustang Pace Car. Does anyone know if the Pace Car seat was also a seat in this Idealseat III series, possibly the N Standard?

The Recaro manual that I have is not much better than the web site. There must be a bunch of options on the seats. They don't show the flat bottom seat cushin on the web site. The manual lists Ideal-seat N and LS as the only ones with the heating system and without the side bolster adjustment (C). The adjustable shoulder support is only on the C which we don't have. My guess is N.

I noticed the left and right seats have different mounting brackets.

This may not be the place, but being a newbie, I need to ask a question on Recaro seats.
What are the two switches and three buttons on the side of the Recaros from my Vert? I realize that one will be for the heaters, but what are the others? Don't mean to sound stupid, but figured one of you guys would know.
Thanks again.

I have a hunch, but I am not sure, so hopefully someone who owns one will reply.

The switch turns on the air pump for the lumbar support. The manual says to hold it for 10-15 seconds. You will feel all three lumbar chambers pump up. You then use the push buttons to release the air for the proper support desired. On mine only 2 seem to work. I don't know if there is actually a third one and just found out by reading the manual. You can hear the air pump run while the switch is held down.

Thanks a bunch for the info. I had no idea that the seats had lumbar support. I'm a newbie to ASC Mclarens. I'm really learning the hard way with mine having been flooded.
I will have to check everythig out when I get the seats back in the car. Thanks again.
