Does anybody have any experience removing the top bolt on the starter of a 5.0.
I can't seem to get at the top bolt no matter how I go at it. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/darkhorse40/

I think two ways.
Remove the header. (I think this is what I had to do to replace the starter cable on my car)
or
Get about 5 extensions/swivels and try to get at it from the top of the engine.

Mike, I had posted on Four Eyed Pride as well and someone told me to go at it from behind the motor mount. I ended up using two extensions with a u joint in the middle and then a swivel adapter for the half inch socket at the end. I slithered it behind the motor mount as was suggested and it was quite easy for having to do it laying on my back.
Now I'm back in business! _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/darkhorse40/

that swivel adapter cost me a mere $38.50... wasn't very happy about it but I require an unlimited warranty on my tools. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/darkhorse40/
