I bought this car, a ASC Mclaren Pontiac Turbo Grand Prix, new with only 53 miles on the clock, imported to the UK from the US Xmas 1989.
Kept it garaged for most of the 23 years, and only done 48K miles.
Never modded at all. Still looks like it did when I bought it.
Now I'm getting too old to use it so intend to sell it in the next 12 months.
Anybody got any idea what's it's worth? |

Not really. While occasionally the Pontiac asc cars do pop up as discussion topics from time to time, we focus on the 84-90 asc Ford/Mercury cars.
There are a few Grand Prix sites out there though that should know current values a little bit better.

Great to see another ASC owner from the UK on here! There was a red ASC Pontiac in the Suffolk area on EBay last year, was this your car? If so it was a beauty, I'd love to see that in the flesh.
As to value, I gave £2000 for my 87 ASC Mustang last year, it had stood in a barn for ten years and needed quite a lot of work. I've probably spent close to £3000 getting it back on the road, but I doubt it would fetch £2500 if I put it up for sale, unfortunately Fox Mustangs don't hold much value here!
I think you would probably get more for it if you sold it back to the States, I'm sure collectors over there appreciate specialist US cars a lot more than over here, it's amazing to think a bog standard 1100 MK1 Escort from the late 60's that were made in their tens of thousands, is worth 3 times what my one of 479 cars is over here, that's UK collectors for you though! _________________ Don Hardy

The one is suffolk was a bit rough if I remember rightly, not cared for. I have no idea if he sold it. Mine is not that one. I'm in the North of England, just off the M6 west of Manchester. If you are ever in the area your welcome to come and have a look.
Other than a new set of Good Year Eagles at 42K, a waterpump and belt at 43K, brake pads at 35k, mine is untouched from new.
Has always been waxed and polished regularly whether on the road or stored. In it's lifetime The times it has got wet I can count on my two hands. I don't take it out when the weather bad.
A few stone chips of course and one small scratch mine is as it was when I got it in when new.
Trouble is I'm getting on in years and don't use it much at all.
MOTed and services last March and only done 300 miles since. |
