Sold a blue ASC Capri. Guy is tearing it apart and the fender apron tags do not match the vin. Both tags say ff111111. Buck tag is long gone. Door tag is gone. He has talked to the original owner and we know it's a true blue ASC. Trying to figure out the fender tag numbers and what they might mean. Any help would be appreciated

Check with Kevin Marti at martiautoworks.com. He has Fords database and is pretty good on body markings. You also can get a new door tag from him.

Yeah, not sure on the that tag. Maybe Ford made a mistake. I would say a number with all ones shouldn't be correct on the fender skirt.

I'd contact Kevin Marti for a report.

I wonder if FoxChassis has seen this thread.

FF111111 = 1FABP28MXFF111111 (1985 Mustang 5.0L hatchback)

With the buck tags and door tag gone, and both fender tags being the same but not matching the VIN on the firewall, I'd say you're looking at a front clip swap or a re-body.

the Fender tag is really not connected to the Outside fender. its welded to the frame rail or inner fender apron
