Just joined the forum today. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!
About 6 yrs ago I bought my first and only muscle car. I want to bring attention to the fact that the lack of interest in the ASC McLaren amongst the industry has allowed me to obtain a rare muscle car that I probably wouldn’t be able to do otherwise. I’m glad to have my own odd-ball and grew to love it.
It’s a 1987 ascMcLaren Red w/ tan interior and black top. It’s also a 5-speed. Since it’s a 1987 #482 and has all the upgrades of early 1988 models along with the color scheme, I would think there’s a possibility that it’s a one-of-a-kind. I spoke with Hank because I was wondering about the inconsistencies with other 1987’s and he explained that it was one of the last 1987’s the got from Ford and was sold in and counted as 1988. It has 27,560 mi. Vin# 1FABP40E3HF247731
Last week was the first car show I brought it to. I placed second in my class without preparing the car for the show.
I just wanted to introduce myself.
Anyone have a recommendation for tires that are period specific? |

Welcome!
Not sure on the rarity of your car. It's rare, but of course, all asc cars are super rare.
Not sure on the verts but I thought they kept the gatorbacks that Ford put on them as Mustangs.

I don't see anywhere that the tires were changed by asc. _________________ 1985 ascMcLaren Coupe - Midnight Blue
