Look at this picture:-

To the immediate right of the steering column, set into the
gray plastic, is a rectangle that kinda resembles the rectangle
to the immediate left of the steering column, which is the
dash dimmer thumbwheel/courtesy light switch. Well, this
one on the right, houses a bank of lights. In the brochures
it was referred to as "Alert Warning Light System". I am not
100% positive, but I think it was: "Door Ajar" "Low Fuel"
"Low Washer Fluid" and "Trunk Ajar" ~ ~ BUT I could be
in error.
The funny thing about this is that it was on all 1987, 1988 &
1989 Mustangs. For 1990 some dimwit decided that it should
ONLY be included on the GT series and that the LX didn't
need it. (Go figure?) Dimwit was over-ruled for 1991 and
it was back on ALL 1991, 1992 & 1993 Mustangs, LX OR GT,
it didn't matter, everybody got it. THEREFORE, only the
65 - 1990 ascMcLarens - of all ascMcLaren Mustangs lack
this ! {BUMMER} (That's why I don't know what the lights
are really for, since all ascMcLarens started out as LX V8
2-door coupes). From 1987 thru 1993, the only Mustangs
that lacked this warning bank of lights, were the 1990 LX
cars. Our piece of plactic is solid in that spot, we do not have
any sort of "plug" or filler. I wonder if we have the
electrical connectors behind the dash to make these lights
work ?? _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
