Seems like we all ran out of things to say... so,
I am seeing a bone surgeon tomorrow regarding my need for minor surgery. I developed something called a BAKER'S CYST! This from eating too many baked goods !!
No....not really! It's a cyst "discovered" by Dr. Baker in London. Very painfull, almost boarderline crippling! Behind left knee, where the leg folds on backside of leg. I think it's become ruptured and the fluid leaks out and the entire leg swells. Hurts, man....really hurts. I believe it's one day in hospital, but not overnight....like 7AM to 7PM. They don't put you out, just a local, making leg like wood, for like 3 hours (I guess.) Actual procedeure I was told is like for 25 minutes.
Tomorrow I find out if it's NOT ruptured, he can do it in his offfice, and it's much more simple. First time in my life I've ever been sick, so I am scared tulips.
THAT is why I have been "quiet" .... And You? _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Sad to hear that Sandy. It must be from all those cigars
I have been working 70+ hours a week...
At least I have internet access
I am dying to shoot some photos of my 85 5spd vert but my digital camera has finally given up the fight. Should be getting a new one for Christmas.
Good luck with the doctor. I hate surgery of any type. On the bright side at least the summer is over and you won't be missing cruising in the 86 anyway.
BTW if for some reason you will need a automatic I am sure we can work out a trade of some sort.

I have been sitting around nervously awaiting a response from the guy to whom I made the offer for the Corvette and Avanti, knowing that if he says no, I will make an offer on the McLaren Capri on Long Island.
Good luck with the surgery. _________________ Robert

All of my McLarens ARE automatics! I HATE sticks!! Shift, brake, Shift shift, shift shift, brake, Okay for rural Vermont, NOT what ya want in overcongested over populated urban suburban New Jersey...No no no!
Not good.
I had to laugh at what you wrote! My wife said, "Hey, look at the bright side....Car Washing season is about over" {I love washing my cars}!
Really stinks! Today's my wife's birthday, and I am so crippled that I gave her $$$$$ and told her to go to the florist & buy whatever she likes ! Just too painful to leave the house. The pain killers cause me to sleep ALOT !
3:15 tomorrow = surgeon's office. If not ruptured we do it there & then, otherwise more freakin pain killers & an appt. at the hospital
First time I've EVER been sick in 57 years !!! So, I am lucky. But my tolerance level of pain is like that of a 5 year old _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Retract that statement right away and put it in your pocket, as you don't want to jinx yourself. I used to brag about how I had not seen a doctor since my sophomore year of high school (for a physical so that I could be on the track team) and how no one in my family ever got sick before the age of 80, but the jinx eventually caught up to me. _________________ Robert

Sandy,
Maybe the cist developed from the lack of use of your left leg from driving so many automatic equipped cars.
Seriously, I hope everything goes well and your back on both feet soon.
Good luck.

I know what you are going through. I hurt my left knee this past 4th of July. I was out of work for a month. Dr. said it was a slight tear on my maniscus. He didnt want to operate so he sent me for physical therapy. Im glad he didnt operate, im a baby when it comes to stuff like that. My knee still goes out every once and a while but what are you going to do, I to went 35 years with out getting hurt. Good luck tomorrow. |

Sorry to hear it, Sandy. Hope you're 100% again soon.
I had ACL/miniscus surgery a few years ago, and it wasn't much fun. My Ford Probe was a stick, and after a few days I managed to find a way that I could slide my seat ALL the way back and recline it ALL the way back, lift myself back to sorta sit on the backrest and shift with my leg straight in a brace. I must have looked really strange. I don't recommend this method, but I was in a new city, I didn't know anyone and I was too broke to rent a different car. _________________ '87 Guards Red ascMcLaren (#398) |

I missed my Dr's. office appt., yesterday. We had an electrical outage in the immediate area, and my car was in the garage, (power door) and we could not get the car out until 6PM and the Appt. was at 3:15.
I am calling tomorrow to make another appt.
Thanks for the good wishes. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

You do know there is a manual release for power garage doors in the event of such a problem, right? On mine, its a red lever, you pull it, it detaches from the door opener and you manually lift the door. You drop the door back down and it will latch back in place again.

On mine you have to break the garage door window, get a step stool & reach in and pull a cord to release the arm that attachs both to the door & to the motor. Since the blue 'Vert was in there, I didn't wanna risk the breakage of glass onto its hood. The power was resumed at 6:02 after going out at 2:55. It was off for 3 hours & 7 minutes. A very local transformer blew. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
