Went to a auto show today in Ottawa, KS. and saw a McLaren parked on the street. VIN 614999. Good looking McLaren with tags from Missouri. Who owns this McLaren?

84 85 86 should be the same air dam and only some verts got the air dam

the easy way to tell 85 from 86 is the 3rd brake light

I went & looked it up!

It is a 1986 ascMcLaren 5.0SC 2-Seat Roadster in Keweenau White, with Medium & Dark Regatta Blue interior and an Atlantic Blue roof......

Since they never listed OPTIONS on the VIN listing {Hey, I am working back 'n forth off of 4 different listings, form ASC.} I therefore do not know what options she had on her Laughing

The "Sports Decor Package" was an exclusive option to the 1986 Capri 'Verts. It consisted of the Coupe's Front air dam & Foggies, the Coupe's Side Ground Effect Skirting, and the Coupe's rear under bumper air valance with twin cut-outs for the tailpipes. The MSRLP was $1,395. HOWEVER......IF IF IF the ordering dealer ordered it on a Sterling Silver car, a Paris Blue Metallic car, or a Atlantic Blue Metallic car, it was LISTED on the window as $1,395.00 But in reality, on the dealer's invoice it was listed as N/C (No Charge). It was considered the "Spring Special" ~
Also introduced at that time was Dark Charcoal Interior, and a Black Roof.

14 were made in Sterling Silver Metallic
12 were made in Paris Blue Metallic (NOT the same as 1989s Paris Blue)
11 were made in Atlantic Blue Metallic

They are very very rare !

Even tho the car in question is Keweenau White, I am explaining the others, as the ground effects were mentioned on this Keweenau White car. IF IF it had them, the buyer paid $1,395.00 for them.

How could a vert of the same year, have the same VIN? Something is wrong. Most likely an error in the VIN ! Coupes never had an exterior #. Only on 1986s were they nembered, and only on the dash, in front of the passenger.

It coulda been a 1985 with the same VIN (Odd, but cewrtainly possible) as I do NOT have 1985 VINS (nor 1984). But, Smoke Charcoal Gray was NOT available until 1986......

1986 Capri with 614999 is what I posted.

I went thru each & every one of the:-

1986 EuroCoupes
1986 Regular Coupes
1986 Converts.

The only car with a VIN of 614999 is the convert I listed.
HOWEVER>>>>>> It could be 1985. If so, it's also a repaint,
as the Smoke Charcoal Grey came on board in December of 1985,
when they were allready 5 months into 1986 production.
