I have paid for the 1986 ascMcLaren vert from Long Island that was subject of another thread on this site, and the title is in my hands. Now all that I need is the car.
In an effort to save a few bucks, I initially contracted with www.wheelsonwheels.net to tote the car from New York to Texas. After a week and a half, however, they could not even confirm when they would be able to pick it up from the seller. The problem is that they are merely a broker, and they rely on someone else to pick up the vehicle when they are in the neighborhood, basically.
I finally had enough of that nonsense and canceled the order. I have now gone with DAS, who assure me that they will pick up the car on Monday. It will then be delivered to me as soon as they have a full truck heading in my direction. Thus, the delivery time could be as short as a few days or as long as two weeks.
The anticipation is killing me . . . . _________________ Robert

Wow. DAS picked up the car in New York on Monday, and I just got a call that it arrived at the Dallas-area terminal today. Three days. Wow again.
I will withhold my glee until I pick it up and confirm that it made it here in one piece. Sadly, I will have to wait until Saturday to pick it up, as the place closes at 5:00 p.m. each day, and I have no one who would be willing to drive me all the out to this place during the week. _________________ Robert

To all interested parties, I have a business card from the driver who delivered my convert. from NY to NC. Real nice guy, great communication, and prompt. He mostly travels up to the NE to NC, SC.
If anyone may need his services, I have the info. |
