This is the one we saw before, with one grainy foggy picture. The car looks exceptional ! I studied every picture and can find only 3 things in error, but sadly, one of them is UNavailable.
1). The driver's side windshield wiper refuses to "park" where it's supposed to/
2). The ugly looking brownish "boot" cover that covers the plug wires is out to lunch.
3). What can't be found >> In the trunk picture (red x) the carpeted "partition" between the trunk and the folded top area is missing. This was actually attached and part of the floor (trunk) carpeting, so I'd have to guess that the floor carpeting is also gone. #1 can be fixed & #2 can be bought, but #3 is a problem. Otherwise it's very nice....
Too bad he put on the supercharger, that make it not original and one has to assume she was beat on, IF the stock set up wasn't enough....
Anybody, can it be returned to stock? How Much ? _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I would call Hank for #3....
Is it a piece of cardboard/particle board? I bet one could be made.
To be honest, with the current market, that SC probably enhances the value of the car. It looks to be a very clean installation and SCs are not cheap.

Upon really starring at the trunk, I'd have to say I think that it does in fact have it.
I would not (as a buyer) have a problem with the supercharger as much as I'd have a problem with "WHY" the supercharger? As you know, the cars have plenty of power. Adding the supercharger raises the question as to WHY? Was it for looks? Pretty expensive for just looks. Or, was she drag raced, or street raced and possibly abused? He's looking for $20,000. I paid $20,000 2 years ago for my Silver car, with 7,004 miles on it, or 5,000 or so less, and remember, mine's the final year, a 1990, and bone stock. I'd say this red 1989 is worth $ 17,000 tops.
I'd like to get 2 things for my coupe. A new OEM underhood pad and a new one of those boot covers that this red car also needs. Darn things get a nasty oily looking brown - actually tan color. Those are her only 2 items that aren't oem perfect. (Once I remove the 5.0SC to make you happy ) _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I can help with 1 of those items:
http://secure.50resto.com/product1.cfm?CustomerID=2607939&ACBSessionID=C2DpiqIXufNOh2DzDky7&SID=1&Product_ID=100
I ordered one and you guys told me the 85s didn't have it so I sent it back.
$11 at 50 Resto for a NOS (FORD not repro) distro boot cover.
I have never seen one turn brown like yours Sandy, I just assumed you had some protectant on it. Ones out of the junk yard look black and much better than that. Most seem to still be in good shape. My advice if you buy another one, don't put anything on it.

It was SOoooo Tan that I wiped it with a sponge that I put Pledge onto. It just made it shiny tan
I never really looked, but are these things hard to get off? /On? I know the rubber "snaps" on the top half and I think I saw a couple more on the bottom half, but with all snaps UNsnapped, is there more to it ??? Like am I gonna be physically challenged?? If not, I'll order it.
My hood pad is not bad, but also not NEW. Car's got 646 miles on it, so these things must somehow self destruct ???!!!! _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I talked to Hank and he said those pads were damaged from the factory most times. Just not enough clearance in there....even worse for the 85s. The engine heat also does not help that material...it just degrades. The only thing you can do is remove it and store it away.....or start hunting for another one.
LEt me know when you find one...I need one too.
As to the distro covers, they just "unbutton". Next time you take the car in for an oil change, have the guys swap it for the new one...they should NOT charge you for it...
My 2 year old could do it....

She's going in for the usual next May. The Ford Dealer I take it to, only one guy works on the car, and I have ALWAYS tipped him. He'll be glad to do it for me.
I don't think there are any NOS hood pads left. I'd assume that 50RESTO place doensn't have any..... or YOU'D have it! Yes, there is like zero clearance between the hood pad and the motor. Actually, the pad's too thick. If it were 1/2 the thickness, it would be better.
Hey, did you get the price listing I sent to you ?????? _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

When you get the ditributor boot cover keep the Armor-All and any other junk away from it, that's what turns them brown. _________________ Tom S.
