Not a happy announcement, but one that I do owe to all of you.
As most of you know, anytime I am sent an e-mail, or anything on this site is directed to me, either in public view, or in a private message, that I aways reply promptly.
So, that is about to change, but just for a little bit. I don't want anyone to wonder, or feel "slighted" by not hearing back from me. On Monday morning, (yes, this coming Monday, the 19th) I will be entering the hospital at 6:30AM, to endure some rather serious surgery, that will take about 3 hours ! I am scared REALLY scared, as I am a total virgin to the hospital, other than to visit others. While the surgery is intense, and painful afterwards, the hospital stay is somewhat short. I am told by my surgeon that I will probably be released in 3 days. However.... I do not know if the first day counted therin is the day OF surgery, or if the first day counted is the day AFTER the surgery?!!?
Regardless, he says that I'll probably be sent home "in 3 days" ~ Well.... the 3rd day, if we do not count the day OF the surgery trurns out to be Thanksgiving. I assume that they are on a reduced staff that day and things kinda "march-in-place" and only emergency things are done, so that being the case, they may wait to release me until Friday AM. So, somewhere between Wednesday & Friday, I will be home. (Please, God)!
When able, I will post, but I will be in alot of pain for "about a week to 10 days" {{OUCH}} >
So, just know that I am not ignoring you nor this wonderful message board of exchange of ideas & assisstence.
I am posting this Saturday, as tomorrow is a day of "at home prep & rest."
Thanks for your support and love
Sandy

Sandy, ALL of our best wishes are with you. Best for a speedy recovery. I've endured three surgeries and none were as bad as expected.
I'll be thinking of you. _________________ '78 King Cobra

Hospitals are no fun, but hopefully things will be more smooth and less painful than represented. Good luck. _________________ Robert

Watch out for the post-op infection.
Had a good friend (older) go in for some work on her large intestine/colon area...fairly routine. And the surgery went well but the post-op infection nearly killed her. At one point they told her husband to be prepared that she's got a 50/50 chance. She pulled thru finally but it was not pretty.

Thanks, Standmodifier !
I have several good friends and all night the phones been ringing with good wishes. I am so hungry. I am dying for the Welsh Farms Vanilla ice cream my wife bought. I love that with rice crispies poured over the top.
I am dying for a nice Hersheys all chocolate bar. All I think about is food/sweets/ I have not eaten since 6PM yesterday, and will not eat until tomorrow afternoon, and THEN I will not want to eat, 'cause of the pain. Crap. I hate pain. I guess who doesn't ?
Food ! Cry for Food.
I am going to bed, now. Have to be there at 6AM _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
