Added pics to album.

These are some pic I found of my 1989 GT. I wrecked it when I was 17.
Very fast car for a 17 year old.
The guy that owned it previous to me, traded it for an Iroc-Z.
He had put a lot of performance parts on it.
I received as a graduation gift from my parents.

I pegged the speedo out at 140 and was still climbing shortly before the accident. There were four of us in the car at the time. Luckily no one was injured. We hit the telephone pole about five feet up and launched, landing on the roof 193 feet out into the field. The cops said they figured I hit the pole between 100-120mph. I don't remember alot about it from hitting my head on the steering wheel. I do remember seeing a building that was about 1/4 mile from the corner and downshifting. I broke the shifter handle off in third gear and locked up the brakes. We were going to party at a house off to the right of the corner. I had been at that house probably 1000 times before this. Moral of the story, Don't drive like a DUMBASS, keep it at the track.

Yeah, been there done that...well almost. I wasn't going quite that fast at the time...and I hit a tree instead.

I think we both found out that trees and telephone poles simply do NOT move. Not so much as a micron.

BTW, you're super lucky to have those rare Kenwood speakers and covers. I think your car and Sandy's is about all I have really seen with them.

Well that telephone pole in the pic cost $1500 to replace.

I did not know that about the kenwood covers. Better take care of them then.

Well, then you dodged a bullit. Most people think they are aftermarket and toss them. When they are actually STOCK items. And SUPER SUPER RARE!

Before you mod anything, ASK US FIRST!

I still have all original parts for my car. I keep everything in boxes.
The original Kenwood 6X9's are still working great. The front were dry rooted, but are still saved.

Kenwoods still make fronts that fit.

Were the fronts Kenwoods or Fomoco?

Keep that too. You musta have a fairly untouched car then.

If you get into the engine, see if it has the b303 cam.

Yeah I don"t think the first owner touched the car. He was a cop down around Chicago. I still have the police chapter stickers in the window. The car had 96k on it when I got it.
I hav ethe original dealer key chain also.
The original motor came out last summer,(still have it on a stand), I'm not sure if the cam is a B303 though. I cannot read the stamping on the too well. I have the cam wrapped in oiled down paper towel and stuck away.
The reason I pulled the motor was becuase it was starting to burn oil. I have an 89 Gt motor in it now.

On the gear where it meshes with the distributor.

If you can get any numbers off from it, that would be interesting to see what it is.

Was the car running allright when you got it? The B303 doesn't play well with the 86 setup.
