It's a time machine. It can be any year from 1984 thru 1990. You have just won $20,000 - but, you must spend it on a NEW ascMcLaren. Coupe or Convertible, Mercury or Ford version. You'll get no change back. You get to order just 1 car. It MUST be NEW ! You do NOT own ANY ascMcLaren presently, and this will be your first one. Okay? Submit your Order !

I'll go first.

1990
Coral Red Pearl Paint / Claret-Wine Roof / Oxford White Leather.
Automatic / Whistler Radar / Illuminated Keyless Entry with Alarm. Good Job

Only 1?!?!?

I'd have a seriously hard time deciding which of these to take...

1988 Black Cherry Pearl/gray interior/wine roof - 5 speed

1990 Dino Yellow/white interior/black roof - 5 speed

1989 Summer's Tan/beige interior/chocolate roof - 5 speed

1988 White/white interior/blue roof 1988 would be nice - 5 speed

Choices, choices. I'd be happy with any of these, but the Dino Yellow would be tops!

PlumCrazy, you lost your chance. 1986 'Verts did not offer Scarlet Interior. The interiors for 1986 'Verts were: Sand Beige; Medium & Dark Regatta Blue and Charcoal Grey (a one year only interior color).

Big Zeke, I like your Summer's Tan / Sand Beige / Dark Chocolate ~ especially since NO units were built in Summer's Tan. I asked when I got the break out, how that happened. I was told, "Easy-- nobody ordered it! Rolling Eyes

Would be nice to have the only one...but, i'm still sticking to my pink firemist car with burgundy top. I lust after unique different, 'ya kno.

I guess I would take an '84 coupe just to see one in person.

I can't believe I haven't seen any normal person pics of these cars.

Are they all wrecked?

Are they all wrecked?

I'd say more than likely. The coupes were identical to the 1985, with the exception of any changes FORD did to the 1985s over the 1984s.

So, visually to look at a 1985 Coupe, you are also looking at a 1984 Coupe.

its easy to spot an 84 just look at the belt molding. 85 and 86 were different then the 84s. i think all 25 of the 84 coups are crushed or in a barn on somones farm.

"" 1988 White/white interior/blue roof 1988 would be nice - 5 speed""

I missed this...asc709. Oxford White interior was only made for 1990. There were, however, 2 units (1988) made with white leather, but they were for the Chicago Auto Show & the Los Angeles Auto Shows. There was no place on the dealer order form to select a white interior color.

ahh, this is tough.

I would take the $20,000 and hire the BEST arbitrator/mediator to sit Peter Muscat, ASC, & Ford down and get past the issues/problems and have a clear vision future for the ASC McLaren Mustang and ink a deal during the meeting to produce approximately 500 cars a year for at least 5 more years or more.

or,

I'd take one of the following:

'88 - Royal Gold - Tan - Beige

'89 - Black Cherry - Wine - Beige

'90 - Azura Blue - Blue - Blue
