I've been on a duck too (a few times actually).

I meant having an amphicar. They came out in the 60's and many just rotted away. Seeing a dozen or more of them bobbing up and down in the lake just looks like a hoot.

I too recall them. I have not seen one on the road for at least 45 years! That looked like piles of fun !! So cool, I like the baby-blue one !

Just north me in the Wisconsin Dells they have a tour with the Wi. DUCKS.

It runs up and down the Wi. river in the Dells and on what used to be Lake Delton. They have like 400 original army ducks in storage.

Just last month they used the DUCKS to evacuate residents from my home town of Baraboo because of flooding.

There is an amphicar on the lake that I live on. I usually see it a 2-3 times a year.

There was one of these cars 2 years ago at Barrett-Jackson that sold for an insane amout of money.

I first saw an Amphicar in a museum when I was a kid. Too cool.

My husband Jim, who when he was much younger, had a used car lot with his buddy. He picked one up at an auction and sold it to his stepfather, many years ago, before my time with him. I understand they had a ball on the Delaware. Wish I would have seen it in action. We know where it is after all these years, but it is not salvagable. What a shame.

Funny these cars couldn't be given away in the 80's. Remember looking at one for $800 that needed some work. Never did buy it unfortunately. Last year I was in the Dell's and had a ride in one of the Duck's. Cool vehicles for sure!

Oh can someone post a link or picture as to what these "Ducks" look like? I'd be interested in seeing one, thanks.

I saw an amphicar at going through smog check at the DMV last year. I was in a bad mood because I thought they were ragging on my ZR1 corvette when they tested it, so I didn't talk to the guy.
