Well, what was it? Alpine, Kenwood or other? Model number?

It would be interesting to see what the "consensus" is to get a feeling as to what asc was doing since it seems asc was not being very consistant.

OK, I dug back through the old Yahoo posts and this is what I found being mentioned as far as radios went:

JDawg has an Alpine (I almost assume he has the 7272 since he doesn specify)
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ascmclaren/message/2308

John Gemelli has an Alpine 7162 in his coupe and Kenwoods in the 2 other verts! (although his Kenwood radios are different, I wonder what style they are. Like the 3006?)

Sean Cassidy (I think that's his last name) has an Alpine 7272

PonyDude has the Alpine 7263 as mentioned before in his "swimming" asc.

It sounds like JDawg has the 71?? series Alpine, since he describes it as having two knobs. I have a 7272 and the post style 7164 from Henry. I can take pics of both if that helps anything. I am searching through all of the pictures I have collected, hopefully I will find something.

edit-You make mention of a post-style 7272 in the other thread. If that is the case, JDawg may indeed have that in his 85.

Alpine made 2 7272 radios. The early ones were post style and the later ones were DIN style. Hank sent me a 7272 post style which I sent back for what I think is the more correct Kenwood for my car.

I hate to say this, but has anyone else thought this..... >> ?

Kenwood & Alpine just sent an assortment of their products to ascMcLaren for a flat fee of $________ (whatever) and that's why they are all mixed up? It's beginning to look like that to me.

HA! That would be HILARIOUS! Like Tom mentioned to me before...they were using whatever was around to get the job done...
