My issue arrived today. Finally. Good article, nice magazine.
In typical fashion, I delightedly showed the article to my wife, pointing out that the featured car was much like mine. She didn't recognize the similarity, since mine is red and the car in the magazine is white. Geez.
Her reaction reminds me of a young lady lawyer with whom I once worked. She had just secured her first job and was all excited to buy a new car. I asked her what kind she wanted. "Red." Ok, sure, but what kind. Miata, Mustang, Prelude (keep in mind that this was 1991)? "Red. I don't care what kind. Just red." _________________ Robert

It mentions that they were made, but that's about it. _________________ Robert

Robert, I have saved one painfully funny cartoon, which I spent 20 minutes trying to post here, but I cannot post it.
It was sent to me from a girlfriend. It's a view of the first new car dealership owned by a girl. The inventory is all grouped together by
car's paint color. The various rows of inventory have big signs
at the end of each row. The signs say:
BLUE CARS
RED CARS
YELLOW CARS
GREEN CARS
WHITE CARS
BLACK CARS
BROWN CARS
AND......
MISC. COLOR CARS.
ON THE BUILDING IS A SIGN
STATING THAT

I wish that I could have posted it! Got this new program called IRFAN or something like that and all of my saved pictures I can view & print...but cannot post. My confuser caught a nasty bad virus (while this site was being formed) and they had to UNinstal my Windows 98 and then re-instal and in so doing whatever program was in there originally was gone, and I get this crappy IRFAN as a host to store my "pictures" "Documnets" and "Extras" and I cannot send anything to anyone. Stinks! _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Only thing that always gets me about certain articles is mainly weight.
Sandy,
If I recall, the specs are always after a mustang LX or Vert. As well as performance times. There is surely a weight difference between the two which affects performance (no power top, top is a LOT lighter, no backseat, etc). I am sure the weight is negligible on the coupes, but the verts would be different than the vert mustang. I wish I still lived near a weight scale for truckers to weigh my 88....
AND I never go by the weight on the registration card or the inside door panels. They are ALWAYS wrong (at least with my cars). My friends and I had the exact same capris (same options, etc). Our registrations cards weight is ALWAYS different....
Anyone ever actually weight the mclaren vert ?

Jason while the non-power top and lack of a back seat would cause the car to have a lighter weight, I feel that is offset by a yet higher weight, due to the steel under body add'l. bracing added by ASC. My guess is that a 5.0 LX Convert would be marganally faster in a 0-60 or 1/4 mile race. Stock vs Stock. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
