The top on my 87 squeaks so much at the windshield it's driving me bonkers. It seems like the latch handle assemblies have seen better days (a lot of side-to-side play b/t the screw-down mechanism and the lever), and that might be part of the problem.
Has anyone had any luck refirbishing the latch handles (with large rubber washers or something, maybe)??? Were they always this loose feeling? Are they notorious for sounding like tortured mice? Can't spend $290 with Hank.
The cold weather has made it worse. A squirt of silicon on the screw-down thingy keeps it quiet for a while, but that's not much of a solution. _________________ '87 Guards Red ascMcLaren (#398) |

Mine is actually fairly quiet, so I am afraid that I can be of no help. I will have to count myself lucky. _________________ Robert
