I very very vaguely recall once seeing an article with pictures on these, way back in te very early 1980s. I do not recall one word of it. I thought it was ugly and wasn't very interested. I am not sure that I believe all that the seller has written pertaining to it, because I see one error, that I know is NOT true, so I lose faith in the rest. He/she says that thecars were marketed thru Madeira Concepts, in California. This simply is not true! Madeira Concepts was the FIRST ever aftermarket wood kit supplier. They are still in business today. Their prices are killers (typical is $375.00 per kit) because each is hand made (not machine made) and each panel is polished by hand. They are truly old world craftsmen. Most kits they sell are for older cars. They cannot compete with today's machine made mass produced wood "stickers" that stick on over the OEM dash panels. Theirs replace the original panels 100% and are atached with fasteners. They have a kit for the 1979-1986 Mustang/Capri.
They are NOT vehicle MFGRS, sellers, promoters. They are woodworkers from across the pond !!

By the way, this product, the Mustang Python came outta Canada!! Madeira Concepts in located in California !!!

The engine in this piece of whatever isn't even close to being from an '85, that thing looks early '80's, if it's even that new.

Plus........It's fugly. Rolling Eyes

80-81 then as the 79s had the door handle at the bottom of the door.

I got a reply back from the owner and he claims its an 85 and claims the engine is exactly the same setup as an 84 he had.

Also of interest & 4-Sale for $20.00
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7953869325&category=34220&sspagename=WDVW

Went & looked again. The VIN has an "f" in the year location, showing it IS an '85. Probably an 85 with an older motor in it. Could it be a 255 Cu In V-8 from a pre 1983 ?

No, read the description...he made up an 85 vin to slip it by ebay.

They didn't make a 255 in 85 anyways. I SUPPOSE if the engine was swapped out at some point it might be possibly be an 85....my guess is if you pull the date codes off the body, you're going to find something around 79-80.

Another thing....the DASH is a post style dash which would be 84 and before....in 1985 they went with the DIN opening for the radio in the dash.

SOMEBODY PLEASE ID THOSE TAILIGHTS!

83-84 TBird tailights.

I wonder if the engine was swapped out. Seems unlikely.

Dang it, you beat me to the punch on the taillights. I finally knew an answer to a question posed around here and you stole my thunder . . . .

Whatever it is, it sure its ugly - unique, but ugly. It looks a LITTLE like a cross between an old Triumph in the back and a 80s firebird in the front. Strange.

Wasn't there another ebay auction for a different "Python" that was just a normal-looking Fox with a few minor cosmetic and mechanical mods a while back?

OK, if I really had to now pick a year...I would say 1983.

Black was last available as an interior color in 1983. The dash is the older style (pre mid-84 radio) and the Tbird lights are 83-84.

The engine baffles me but maybe it was swapped out at some point.

82-85 had a dual snorkle air cleaner. 85 had headers. It's probably an 79-81 engine with the old style ac compressor/hose (79), blue valve covers and cast exhaust manifolds. Possibly an 81 255 (4.2L). They probably didn't build the car over night. It probably took 6-12 months to build it.

As one of the guys at FEP pointed out...its got the onion tops to the struts which puts it 82 or before...and he makes a good case its probably an 81.

Sounds like they were old cars (like an 81) converted later in 83 or so.
