Judging by the reserve, I bet this car could have been purchased rather cheap. Seems like a nicer car than some of us started with for more money.

svt1996cobra-What has become of the white vert you won from Florida not too long ago? It was much like mine, in that it needed/needs darn near a full resto.

On the 85 Convertible I had won, I had contacted him on a time to get it, it was his neighbors car. I had to call his neighbor to set up a time to come get it, I spoke to him once, then never heard back. No responce to my e-mails or phone calls. I feel someone offered him more money for the car, than it went for on ebay. No big deal, I will find another.

No Info on 1984s nor on 1985s

I guarantee it does NOT need Freon! I guarantee that the compressor & related hardware is shot! Super Duper typical on these! $2,000 at the dealer. This car is a career. When done, you'll be in it for at least $6,000.

That kind of stuff really irks me, especially since the seller is getting out of state bidders. He has to realize that the bidder is quite serious if he is so far away, and that the bidder has already done some sort of working coordinating job, family, and shipping arrangements. Luckily, I have only been taken once on eBay, and it wasn't for anything big. I am knocking on my desk right now though.....

My son (at age 15) got taken on ebay. He bought a miniture MP3 player made to look like a Juke Box. He e-mailed the creep off board & told him that he was 15 and did the thing really work. The guy told him yes, but it needs a certin kind of a wire, (external) that the guy didn't have. So my son bid & won it for $62.00. MP3 shows up, and the guy puts in a note as to what kinda wire it needs. Son calls all over. Every electronics outlet in 3 phone books, covering 3 huge couties. Over & over they tell him that wire is extinct, haven't had one in 4 years..... Never got the wire.
Son writes to guy he bought it from and gets back note:
"Ya, I couldn't get the right wire, either ~ put it on e bay & sell it to someone else." Needless to say, nobody in this family buys or sells on e-bay. I'd much rather overpay, and get something of merit, then get "such a bargin"

Ebay, has it's ups and downs. I am to the point where I need a break. I have found for the most part, people are good. There is that 1 out 75, that are a real pain. They make eBAY a hassle.

On that 85 convertible that I won, but did not get, thats ok, it would have been a big project. I really would like to have a 85 5 speed car or a 86. I have never had good luck with a CFI car. I just don't seem to mesh well with them.

I am to the point where I would rather pay more, and get a better car, than restore one. There are couple that I am working on. We'll see what happens!

My wife accuses me of treating a old Capri or Mustang like a lost dog, I try to save them all! I am starting realize I can't!
