The following os excerpted from email I sent to another member
Whether this sounds silly or not, I'm gonna say it.
When I was 10, I used to go to the Ford Dealer and just hang out and play in the cars, and ask stupid questions, and fog up a window on a Cobra II and write may name in the condensation.....
And no one cared that I wasn't with anyone, or that I might break something, or that my parents didn't know where I was......
If there's any tour at Ford, I would go see it.
Has anyone else been hooked on Fords so early? We had a 1962 Econoline that we crammed all seven kids and the parents into every day. Went right from that to a 1975 Pinto wagon, and no we didn't cram all seven kids and the parents into it every day. But when I saw the 1979 Mustang, It was all over.......Its the only car I've ever owned by choice (I've had others forced upon me) amd every one that I purshased new was factory ordered. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/darkhorse40/

I was the same, but not just Fords. All cars !
Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Imperial, Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Lincoln, Mercury, Edsel, AND Ford !
Never cared for any foreign cars, until a few years ago, but VERY few.
Jaguar, Aston Martin, Volvo, Saab, Maserati mostly.
I hope you collected brochures! I have 12 six drawers 72 pull-outs of brochures dating back to 1958 thru 2010. Alot of color chip charts, too. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I was a huge fan of all US makes. Let us not forget American Motors Corporation. AHHHH, an AMX. The handicapped lady on my block had one fitted with steering column controls for her floor pedals.
Sadly I sis not collect any literature. Souks like you have a small fortune in nostalgia there. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/darkhorse40/

Boy...dose this take me back. I loved ,in the fall, when the new models came out. They would bring them into town, all covered up.Then on that special day... BAM! There they were! That was always a blowout. Like the 4th of July , all over . It was part of the fun of being in a small town. And it didn't hurt that it was a " FORD " dealership. |

Doubt that feeling will ever be shared with many of todays youth! I thank the good lord above i have my own dealership now and i let me 5 year old son Dylan climb in and out and learn about the many different revolving vehicles that come thru my showroom! He has gotten much better he has almost stopped leaving things on and running down battery's _________________ -DAVID-

No, I could NEVER forget AMC (American Motors Corporation) !!
Ya see, I was selling Dodge & Dodge Trucks and this girl stopped to look at a PACER "X" that we took in trade. I sold it to her, and then married her. !! That was "only" 27 years ago. I made it up to her in 1988 by buying her a 1988 Sedan deVille. Yes, Dear !! _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

David, if I PM you my address, could ya send me a photo-copy??
Or post it for all to read?
My story is short. Karen came in to look at the Pacer X
I showed it and sold it and when she came back to pick up
her documents (title, registration) I took her across the street
to the Burger King for coffee, while waiting for the transfer.
Later I asked her to go with me to the movies. That was it.
That was 27 years ago. No regrets.
Sadly, she is NOT a "Car-Person" ~ Doesn't share the love.
Like most females, their attachment to cars is akin to our
attachment to toasters.
We have 1 son - age 27. He is a CPA AND in Law School.
He has zero interest in cars. Owns a Mazda 3 GT He bought new in 2007. It is dark purple. Moonroof / leather and whatever else was offered on it. It has everything they offerred. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
