I wish I had gotten color breakouts, too. I requested, but they were not included, and I didn't wanna be a "pest" ~ In retrospect, I wish I had been a pest! Shocked

How about GS/RS numbers?

I know it breaks down the engines but I'm assuming then what you have doesn't specifically say GS vs RS? So we can't be sure how many GS cars got a 5.0?

Sandy,

I think you have mentioned it before, but remind me again. The numbers from the "Illustrated Mercury Buyers Guide" say there were a total of 19,261 in 1985. Is the total printed for '85 in that book incorrect?

Thanks,
Brent

How did Sandy put it to me....

The pages of that book are not suitable to pick up your dog's poo.

Did I get close? Very Happy

Yeah , would of been nice to also see the break down
for the GS/RS t-top,sunroof #'s.....and compare them to 86#'s
Although, if you add the total for 85 both GS/RS t-top,sunroof's
you get 4,272.
Do the same with the 86#'s.....you get 5,186.
Total's are very close.

I don't know VIN to this car. Not sure if it's authenticity
but looks like one of those rare GS/5.0.
Has anybody seen this one?

http://www.foureyedpride.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1428

Like MHISSTC's ..it has the same GS/5.0 features except it has the sport seats. Shocked

Pretty much sums it up!

Explanation:
The UNbelievable has happened! When I originally wrote to my contact at Mercury, I was sent a more complete listing than what I printed here & on FEP. What happened is that somewhere along the line, Sandy LOST it ! Looked all over, could never find. So..... I wrote (this now years later) again, and was sent the listing herein for the 1985s.
So......
Just heard from Mike Negus. Guess What ? Sandy had sent a copy of the ORIGINAL listing to Mike, (around the turn of the century) and Mike Has it!!! I told Mike to just add to my listing the info.

Some bad news. I am going into the hospital Thursday for some tests. I will be home for lunch!!! The tests may indicate the need for surgury. This we want to avoid if possible. McLaren Guru is scared Sihtless. Almost as bad as having to drive a Toyota Sentra~~
I'll be off the board much of Thursday, so hang onto those questions....

Well, I wouldn't go that far. Confused Yes that book may not be the most accurate but what book out there is 100% accurate.
It's still a fairly good resource for Mercury cars in general, especially since we don't really have much else out there in book form.

Sorry to hear about that Sandy, hope everything goes well with the tests.

I fixed up the page.

I have been meaning to track down that book just to get a look at it.
