Wow .......nearly 500 hp in a production Mustang, I wouldn't have even dreamed of this happening 20 or even 10 years ago.

2 changes for me and it's perfect. Ditch the Steering wheel and add the 2 lights in the grille. _________________ 2018 F150 S'crew

Yeah but the Cobra signature is the round fogs at the bottom... _________________ Mike

I would love to see sequential tail lights and side scoops. Oh and a convertible with the roll bar.

It's a Shelby so it needs the wide tailights from the concept, a'la the 67-70 Shelbys. Sequentials would rock on those....
For me, I am glad they didn't over scoop it. |

I wonder if they will ever make enough for some to get on the used car market?
I would like to get one in 10 years after they've depreciated.

According to the article:
"Final prices are not set but the last SVT Cobra cost $35,000. Ford officials say the goal is to keep this car priced less than $40,000. “You won’t be able to touch this performance for the money,” Thai-Tang says. GT500s will be built at the Ford/Mazda joint-venture plant in Flat Rock alongside Mustang and Mustang GT. Ford won’t commit to a production number, but says it will build all the 500s drivers demand."

So who here will by me an 05 Shelby and store it so I can buy it 10 years later for 75% off sticker? I'll even let you put 150 miles on it every year!

Carrying the Shelby nameplate on a Mustang for the first time in 35 years I seriously doubt it will drop 50% much less 75% in 10 years unless it is missing a few things like an engine or title.
The biggest investment with these or any ponycars are the more horses under the hood the better the return. Just look for example at Boss 429's going for $150k!
I would love to buy this car it is a dream come true with Shelby back at Ford. The only thing is can I factory order something that would make mine one of a kind, like for instance have them paint it a color that isn't available at the time at the factory for a few extra dollars. Or maybe those sequential lights and scoops I love put on at the factory and placed on window sticker if its in the Ford catalog at the time. Wonder how that works.

Sandy told me 93 was the last year for that.
Some car company should just have a crazy BIG list of colors that you can paint your car...no matter what model. That would rule. I would go into the showroom just to check it out even if it wasn't my first choice.
If the car makers would cater to more colors than the drab 6 or 8 they usually offer, they would probably appeal more to the people who decide which cars get purchase....the WOMEN. You should have heard my wife complain about the dull colors they offer on SUVs and minivans when we went shopping.

Windviel Blue with White Stripe Type II Package. I think I'll buy it and drive it the 8 miles home and put it away, and then forget I did that. I'll go lOOking for it in....oh, say..... 12 years or so....
Actually, it ain't fair that it only comes in a stick!
I now have a bad (actually weak) left leg, and a clutch
would be outta the question at this point. Why couldn't they
offer a 5-Speed Automatic ?? The 426 HP SRT-8 300C has an Auto,
the Corvette & GTO have Automatics....... What's the big deal ?? _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
