To be honest Negusm when I checked it out I was in the middle of moving to Italy so I did not look at details like that But the most the parts are sitting in my Grandparents garage so I will have my dad take a look. Any tips specificly on what he should look for???? _________________ Deggy67

A scribed "P" on springs, rockers etc.
The 85 motors are a bit of a mystery as some got "special hush hush" treatment with either prototype parts or some other speed parts...perhaps straight out of the motorsport catalog.
Its tough to tell what exactly they did as alot of cars have been rebuilt or modified over the years.

My info on this, that I passed along to many people, including herein, came from a gentleman in New Hampshire (State) (retired there) who actually worked for Ford Racing in Michigan. He purchased new, a 1985 Coupe. He semi-professionally raced the car at various tracks on the East coast. One day, he more or less ("a little pregnant?") blew the engine. So, he decided to investigate & play Sherlock Holmes. What he reported to me (this is 18 years ago, now...) was that the valve springs and valves and valve guides (I believe, on the guides, not 100%) all had the letter "P" hand engraved onto them. The cam was indeed the B-303. His Axle Ratio was a 3.08, even though the code on the door sticker indicated a 2.73:1 ..... We do know that the mufflers/exhausts pipes ON SOME were also modified, (but his was NOT). Others have been found with such a mod.
The tech that works on my COUPE, at a Ford Dealership claims that my axle ratio ON THE CAR is a 3.73:1 ~ allthough the door jamb sticker states it's a 3.27:1. I do not know for sure, but he knows volumes MORE than I do. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
