So I finally get my car back from storage and I go to drop the top today and when I lifted the back to open the tonneau the passenger corner window broke into three pieces...was not real happy Mad .

So my first question is has anyone tried to replace a window in a top?

Second has anyone tried to replace it with a tinted plastic (like on the newer jeep wranglers)?

And does anyone know a good shop in New England that can do this kinda of work?

My right rear window cracked when I folded the top down for the first time this season just a few weeks ago. Yes you can probably have a new window sewn in but I bet you will have to remove the top to do that. I believe that becomes the turning point to just install a whole new top and be done with it.

I was planning on replacing the broken cables over the side windows and repairing the foam padding that came loose on the side interior. My cloth is in good shape but I'm pretty sure I'm in for a whole new top as well now that the window split. It was getting cloudy anyway.

I just spoke with a gentleman last weekend from S. Cal. that had a shop replace the sewn in rear windows on his ASC. He said it came out looking very nice and at a reasonable cost. I guess it all depends on finding a shop that will do it.
