For your wife, the smart thing to do would be to have YOU drive so she has the working seat heater!

See, you don't alway need a mechanical engineering degree to be confortable.

I do drive "Jeepers" when we go out on runs. (Food Stores," Home de-pot",
"Blight-Aid" CVS ( constantly vacant shelves), Deli, and even to go to the movies. I only used "Towniee" on vavation, trips, and/or far rides.
"Jeepers" goes mostly shopping, and running around the immediate county we be in Laughing Karen has the heated seat. I don't. I need it because due to Premium brand Chrmo, excepting June, July & August..... I am always cold!
It is the driver's seat that has no heat. Passenger's is A-OK

Anybody wamnna buy Jeepers ?

If I was in the market...... but I just bought an Expedition. The wife will never part with her '04 Escape. Plus we have 4 other vehicles. Never run out of something to drive.

But it sounds like a beautiful vehicle.

Ya, it is. Karen wants to keep it >> forever< I have done 4 new OEM shocks, a set of Bridgestone XL Dually tires, all normal servercing, 3 new wiper blades and 1 tune up. zero door dings, zero scratches, zero dents and never in any accident. Paint shines as new, Forever hand washed, by me April-October & my friend's business, Personal Touch Hand Auto Laundry from Nov. thru March. All rugs have always been covered. Carpeting is like Day 1. I installed a Wood Kit that is really classy. It looks factory. Trim on all 4 doors, console, dash panel and steering wheel. NONE of it is peeling.
Except for driver seat heater, it is showroom throughout.
The tires have 75% life on them.

All 1997-2001 Cherokees Air Conditioning EVAPORTOR broke at age 8
So did ours. It's a $1,600 repair. Ours has been done. It was done 18 months ago, so it has 6 & 1/2 years to go. (Unless they corrected the problem
in the replacement part. This is unknown. Car is Silver Metallic
Interior is Leather and is Dark Grey.
IF ANYBODY IS INTERESTED IN "JEEPERS" I can send pictures

The 04 Escape has had regular servicing, + switched to Mobil 1. It has a new battery. We replace the batteries every 5 years. Had a power steering hose leak. Other than that it is still all original, even the tires are not worn down much at 60,000+ miles. Now that she's retired it just sits in the carport 90% of the time. Probably won't get to 70,000 miles in the next 10 years. Been a great vehicle so far. Tires going on after the first of the year.

The one before that was a '93 Ford Escort station wagon, 181,000 almost trouble free miles , except for 1 pulley, the idle pulley and had a new compressor for the A/C. had it 11 years. 1 brake job & 3 sets of tires. The 3rd set went on the year we sold it (2003). It came with Michelins, I took them off and went to Goodyears because of the niose, and after two had failed sidewalls. One while parking. Put the car in reverse and the sidewall blew out. One at road speed and almost nailed a tree. Put bigger rims and larger tires on it. Quieted it right down. I still have the original rims and tires in my attic!! The Goodyears ran over 110,000 miles. One went flat and when I checked the sidewalls were rotting. It was never garaged. And we got better fuel mileage than the foreign cars are bragging about now. But a little slow on the go!

I don't even know anyone in the market for a vehicle (that has the money).

I would ask $6,000 for Jeepers. Open to reasonable offers.
This was THE last year for the original Cherokee, the top of
the line and very possibly one of a handfull with all 27 options.
