Why is it against the law, to own one of these cars, and NOT put on any other wheels, other than what the car came with ?
I do not have any memory of viewing any 1988/1987 McLaren 4-sale on e-bay with the correct OEM wheels in at least 2 years.

Is "Stock" really such a dirty filthy word?

If ya ever watch Barrett-Jackson Auction on TV - you will see all the cars are 100% stock looking. They would never put on Mickey Mouse wheels, incorrect paint color, or jumbo wheels/tires.
I've seen 1964-1969 'Stangs go to auction, looking as they did when they were ubloaded of the new-car carrier, and they are now 45 years "old" and look showroom perfect.

To me...it's like touching up the Mona Lisa painting, and giving her an
Afro hair style adorned with a Chinesse Komoana, wearing a Jewish Star and pictured on roller blades !

I agree Sandy! Part of this car's personality are the stock wheels. However, they are a big pain in the ass to clean! Kicked in the Jimmy
