Maybe if there is some pvc tubing in the right size, you could fabricate a short sleeve or adapter of some kind. Finished in black, of course.

Don't know what feasibilty is, just a first thought.

He does not offer the entire cap, just a overlay decal to install over your existing cap.

I know that some of you will laugh,
but I am so "old school" that what I would really like for center caps on my AREs is tri-bar spinners with a tiny decal in the middle that says ASC. Ho Ho!

That would immediately propel me back into my teenage days in the fiftys!

68º & sunny in Des Moines today. Can you believe that?

First time I have had the top down on the Black Mac since I bought her. I took my girlfriend for a spin in it with the new wheels & tires.
Glory, it was great!

If it's the right kind of glue, it can be removed with a hair dryer. Just get it good and hot and the wood should release from the dash.

Any residual glue can be removed with peanut butter. Rub it on, let it sit and use a cloth to wipe it off. Before reinstalling the wood you will need to clean it very thoroughly with alcohol to remove any oil that is left behind.

Whooda thunk it? A hair dryer & peanut butter!

Thanks for the tips Ken.
I will try it as soon as the weather here is more stable (like April or May).
What kind of glue do you recommend to re-install them to the dash?

The hair dryer may not be a sure thing. It only works on glues that are applied hot.

Almost any good body shop can put them back on for you. (If you get them off). I find it's better to take a vehicle to an expert when touchy stuff is needed.

Peanut butter is an old trick for removing gum but it also works on other sticky things.

It works when needing to remove tar off a cat that just jumped onto a tarred roof to. Makes his coat all nice and shiny also. PB is a miracle substance! Of course the down side is that while he is coated in peanut butter he will also land on his back (because when you drop a piece of bread with peanut butter it always lands pb side down, f'n murphy...)

Well, the more I looked at the Mac with the black AREs the less I liked it.
When I bought it I wanted to keep it stock/original as much as I could.
Sooo, I swapped back to the original McLaren Mesh Wheels today. I honestly think it looks better!

Putting them back on.

Here it is with its original booties back on again. First time since I have owned it that it got rained on, or I should say misted on!

It's nice to be blessed with a set in such good condition.

Mine were reconditioned. Are your original?

What are you planning to do with the AREs? I have had no luck finding the stock wheels, may like a set of AREs until I do locate a set.

Actually they are original, but peeling a little bit in a couple of the centers. If you are referring to the ones on your Froggy, they look to be a beautiful refurb.

How about I answer your question with a photo?
They came off of the "Mac" & went directly onto the "Valencia"!
