Someone explain to me why I have an 88 mclaren along with an 88 asc mclaren brochure from a dealership and WHY they do NOT have the 88 waffle wheels on it. It looks like the 90 wheels on it. So why doesn't the 90 wheels come on the 88. They obviously made these 90 wheels BEFORE 1990.

You obviously have either a 1989 or a 1990 brochure.

The 1989 opens like a road map, featuring a white car, a red railing in back of it, and one heck of alot of blue sky.

The 1990 is not a brochure, but rather a 1-page flyer, showing a Sea Foam Aquamarine car, with white leather interior.

The 1987 & 1988 brochures showed a red car, with grey interior.

The 87/88 Wheels were the "basket Weave" and were made by Campignolio of Italy and imported by MSW

The 89 / 90 wheels were the Enkei (brand) Eighty-Two (82) model.

This is the one I won off ebay. Even the date inside says 1988. Look at the wheels on the front. This car is the same combination as mine: Sterling Silver with blue/blue..

That is the 1989 brochure !! The car is "Keweenau White" NOT Silver !!
Open it up & look inside! White Car, Blue Sky & Red Rail.
On the lower back is the print date. It says
"Design Network" ( The Printer)
1330 (The Number Printed - as in quantity)
888 (The Print Date - August 1988).

In August they print the soon to be released next years model!

The 1987 brochure was printed in 8/86
The 1988 brochure was printed in 8/87
The 1989 brochure was printed in 8/88
The 1990 brochure was printed in 8/89.

No, that's the 1988 flyer (Single page 8x11 inch)

The 1988 brochure is 95% identical to the 1987 with the following exceptions:

The front cover, lower right side has 1988 going sideways up the side.
The small pic of the SVO style steering wheel (that was never used) is omitted from the inner page.
Medium Blue Metallic is an added color on the back cover.

Print Date is 8/'87

Damn,
Shows you how much I paid attention..... Well, anyway, I am sure no one will know or realize that I have an 89 brochure when I display that with my 88 in car shows (unless I run into Sandy)..

Sandy - Just don't tell the judges..... Wink
