Hello, I'm new to the group and just recently purchased a 58k (appears to be original mile) convertible. I didn't see the VIN anywhere in this forum, so it looks like the previous owner never shared any info.

I verified the tag on the front radiator support, but didn't see any other s/n or production info stickers. There is sticker on driver door with "incomplete" on it.

1985 White convertible.
Blue top and blue leather Recaro interior.
302 HO EFI. Auto trans.
Alpine stereo with speakers in headrest.

vin 607861.

Is there any database available to learn more about this vin?

Any info is appreciated. I pick the car up tomorrow night.

Dom

If you go back to the forum index, then select database, you will find the cars listed by year and then vin. Yours has not been posted so please post the info. The vin is a low number and you ASC serial number is probably close to 100.

Hi. And welcome to the group. I also have an 85. Nice to see another one added to the list. Looking forward to some pictures.

Just a small point of clarification - I believe the 85 auto came with CFI which is technically different than EFI. EFI didn't show up until 86. I have a stick in mine so I have a carb. Maybe someone can confirm this.

So again welcome and enjoy your new ride !!

You are correct, it is a CFI engine. "5.0 EFI HO" is written on the factory air cleaner and is just a generic term "Electronic Fuel Injection."

For 1986, they switched to sequential electronic fuel injection (SEFI), which is also EFI.

I'll post pictures of the engine after I pick it up.

Here are some pictures. The McLaren door tag isn't there, but the Ford tag is labeled "Incomplete Vehicle"
