Some of the Hood Scooped cars also have the radar detector INSIDE of the glove box, with a perfectly surgical flawless cutout framing the faceplate of the radar detector, so that it might be operated withOUT opening the glove box. At least one that I found also had the raised portion of the hood outlined in thin dual Popsicle Orange pin stripes. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Shame on you Sandy for not putting them in order....I fixed it (you also didn't have MY car in the list and you had two duplicate numbers):
<the list above was replaced by the sorted one>

I knew that there was no need to put it in order as if I did it in the order that I found them (which is how I did it) that YOU would do it for me! ThankXX ! The one dupilate was probably because it was sold and at some point the new owner contacted me. With so many on the list (this was JUST 1985 Coupes ~ also there are 6 other years...) I missed it.
Which one on the listing is YOUR car??????????
Here's a picture of a Hood Scoop car, with the somtimes seen on Hood Scoped cars dual pin striping:-

Yeah, you guessed right.
Actually there were 2 dupes...both were in the top part with no description and in the bottom part with a description.
My car is # 607872 ... potentially in the top 30 cars.
I know you have it as you asked me about it a while ago and if it was white....or something....since you came accross a "scrap" of paper with the number on it.
I have to wonder, if somebody went and organized your entire collection of paper scraps...what other information may there be?

OK, a little fun with numbers and assumptions...
The new member just said his car (613087) was built on March 1985 (scheduled to be built anyways).
My car is 607872 with a scheduled build of 1/15/1985.
The difference in VINs is 5215.
The difference from the first car on your list (605440) to mine is 2432.
Roughly speaking if Ford was making Capris at about the same rate then the first cars to come from Ford to asc were built in December.

That looks like body filler or fiberglass that it chipped away from the passenger side of the hood. Was there a hood modifcation that went along the scoops? |

Mike, I looked & checked again. I DO have YOUR car on the list, however, I have it listed for some reason as WHITE. Long Long Long ago I put all the scraps of paper on the list. There are no other scraps that are not on the listing. Yours has been corrected, now and is properly listed as Lilac with Dark Olive interior. Happy ?

No, no fiberglas or any such stuff. The original "louvers" were removed, and these scoops (NASA TYPE) were inserted in their place. If I recall they felt like aluminum, painted. They fit in perfectly.

Actually since the light grey ACC carpet turned green, you're not far off with the interior part.
I need new carpet....blech.

Check with Cabrio World in Newark, NJ.
I am not a fan of their McLaren tops ~ but
their carpet is very good.
I do not know their URL. try
www.cabrioworld.com and maybe you can get to it from there... _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

A guy at FEP found a supplier of GM restoration products that makes carpet for Ford cars (many, many cars actually). They supposedly are the top guys when it comes to GM carpet replacements.
The guy bought some and was very impressed.
I was thinking on trying them. Its a bit more than ACC ($60 more) but more than worth it if it doesn't turn green.
