I was helping my mom with her 67 Mustang vert.

The original alternator crapped the bed. Amazingly all the McParts stores had alternators in stock for it...but the hookups on the back were off by 120 degrees.

Finally got one to try and sure enough, I would have to hack the original wiring harness to hook it up. Looked online to Mustang parts places and even they all sell the same alt as the McParts stores.

Then I ran across this:

Took 10 minutes and it bolted up perfectly.

Who knew? A tip if you guys aren't aware.

All the Gen. 1 alternators are pretty much the same 1965 to about 1985. Reclocking is one of the few variations. Not too hard to rebuild them yourself as well.

Seems like it's a common thing to do for people upgrading their alternator to a version not originally meant for their car.

Also my mom's might have been different because the car has no a.c..
