I need these for my euro. Anyone on here bidding on them? Actually I need the seats without the leg lumbar support, I think they came in Escorts, but if nobody is dead set on getting this set on ebay, I'll go for it.

Eric, bid knowing that they are INcorrect for your EuroCoupe! Euros had the stock red piping (welting) on the seats. Go to his OTHER AUCTIONS. He has a correct set for the EuroCoupe, also on e-bay, right now!!

My Eurocoupe does not have the red piping on the seats. They are all gray.

My car did come stock with gray piping. The previous owner who trashed the stock seats was my cousin. It is exactly like a 85-86 GT seat without the pullout lumbar section.

I also have all of the other oddities on my car. Power windows and locks, t-tops, power fuel door, power hatch release, cruise control, A/C, etc.

I know for a fact that my car did not have the pullout section. I have verified this with the original owner.

1. All Capri RS & Mustang GT from 1984 thru 1986 had the adjustable under thigh section that pulledout. Capri GS and Non GT Mustangs did NOT.

2. Piping Color. All Mustang GTs had red (on grey interior color choice selection), as did all Capri RS. Full packaged ascMcLaren Coupes the piping was specially made in matching grey. Ford Factory Prepped Capri RS, built under code D32-ascMcLaren to become a EuroCoupe ALSO had the interior matching grey piping. Capri RS plucked from the assembly line and diverted to NorthTown L-M in Kansas City were NOT built under code D32-ascMcLaren, and did not carry the special changes/alterations shared by/with OTHER ascMcLaren Coupes for 1986. Therefore....their seat piping was factory stock bright red, upon the grey seats.

3. When a NorthTown "ascMcLaren" arrived at NorthTown L-M it looked EXACTLY like a bone-stock 1986 Capri RS in either white with grey interior, or black with grey interior or smoke gray metallic with grey interior. ALL of the parts to transform it into an ascMcLaren would arive via UPS to their parts department. NorthTown then SOLD each part to the customer. You picked & chose what pieces you wanted or could afford.

4. Cars that were not built under code D32, NEVER NEVER
arrived AT Autry Avenue in Livonia Michigan which was where our car were made into ascMcLarens!

5. The ascMcLaren program was terminated BEFORE the end of 1986 Capri production!! The VIN of the FINAL ascMcLaren (Non Northtown Coupe) was 619925. The VIN of the last ascMcLaren Convertible for 1986 was 619676, so the convertible went out of production 249 cars before the Coupe. The FIRST NorthTown "ascMcLaren" had VIN 619683. 242 cars after the last full packaged Coupe, and 7 cars after the last convertible.

6. About NorthTown L-M: They were the 1st or 2nd Mercury Dealer to sign on for the ascMcLaren retailling program. They are a big aggressive highway dealer, and retailed probably more 1985/1986 ascMcLarens based on the Mercury Capri than any other dealer in America. They were perhaps the biggest customer of ascMcLaren. At some point, probably in very late July of 1986 they most likely found that they were fast running out of ascMcLaren coupes, and placed an order. Their order came too late. The program had ended. But to pacify customer #1, Ford & ascMcLaren did NorthTown a favor. Ford built the cars, and shipped them directly to NorthTown, while ascMcLaren seperately shipped NorthTown all the parts to make a "do it yourself" ascMcLaren Coupe....Thusly the D32 code was then dead. The cars did not get whatever things Ford did at Dearborn in preperation for it to become an ascMcLaren ! Thusly, red piping was installed on them.

7. People move and take cars with them. Therefore do not expect that all NorthTown ascMcLarens are still in Kansas City ! I have found one in Albany, New York !

8. The absolute FINAL 1986 Capri bore VIN 620869, or 944 units AFTER the last ascMcLaren Full Packaged Coupe !

Honestly, often "original" owners are often very bad at "remembering" much about their cars. I have had "discussions" with my father on the cars he bought new and I cannot fathom some of the things he does not "remember". This even includes cars that were purchased when I was learning to drive.

When the car was purchased, she provided every receipt for every service visit, oil change, and the only place to ever touch the car was the dealer. It's hard to believe someone that meticulous (sp?) would have forgotten changing the seats. But hey, at least she kept the car nice.

I hear you but in any case it is suppose to have the pull out seats like the ones on ebay with grey piping or as Sandy said red is correct for you car.
How do you like your 500 does it have the CVT tranny?

No CVT trans for my 500. It's the only option we didn't go for. They build them here at the plant in Chicago, and I have a few friends who work there. They have had problems with that trans and when we were ready to purchase a new car, the bugs were not worked out yet. Love the car though. we got the limited with every other option. There is a ton of room and we needed it for the baby. There was no getting a good size car seat in the tiny Jaguar X-type we had. Crying or Very sad

If by some miracle, she had a picture to back it up...it would still be a factory error or the dealer swapped the seats with something else.

If she did have a picture...or is very very clear that they did not have the pull out lumbar supports, I would probably track down the right seats too.

Early 1984 Capri Sport Seats did not have that pull out support either....so you might look there.
