Recently purchased '87. There have been a few changes to the car and I want to get it back to factory stock. Few questions hoping you all can help me with.
Is there a way to decode the Vehicle?
Is there anyone or group that knows these cars inside and out?
Did these cars come with a 85mph speedo or were they 140 only?
What was the stock radio?
Is there a spot I can find photos of stock ASC's interiors?
Any brand recommendations for interior paint?
Car has Biege or tan interior, any color recommendations to match?
Exterior is Red, looking for a touch up paint. Does anyone sell specifically for these cars or does anyone have a paint code they can share?
Thank you in Advance for your help |

You can start by getting the Emminger Report (window sticker) and that will tell you how it left Ford. ASC only did so much.
There are lots of experts out there. You need to take input from a few sources and make your decision on what is best. ASC did not document all their work but mostly advertised it. We lost our biggest expert.
Deal with 1 issue at a time.
SEM makes some good interior paints. _________________ Kevin Gold card MCA Judge for Fox Body

Welcome!
http://www.ascmclaren.org/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=6
That link has a ton of info from Sandy Block who was the foremost expert on these cars.
Here is some exterior paint info:
http://www.ascmclaren.org/phpBB/ascMcLarenDocs/ascMcLarenColorCrossReference.htm
For the interior, asc would have gone with the Mustang GT colors...so restore as per what 87 Mustang Beige would be.
I am pretty sure the radio is the OEM Ford radio, I think. Check that first link for how the builds were done.
Hank at ascMclaren.com has lots of resto parts. He can probably answer a bunch of questions too.
