It's nice. I like it.

Funny how all 25 1984s & all 150 1985s are equipped exactly the same. No Power Locks nor hatch release in glove box, A/Conditioning & 5-Speed Stick. Yes, I know at the very tail end of 1985s a handful had cruise & even less had Power Locks, and even less were Oxford White. Rolling Eyes

What interests me are the rear speakers. They look to have round speaker covers! More 6.5" round rear speaker??? I wonder if they are kenwood.

It needs some TLC but looks like a good starting point. I have this car as being on ebay before and may have a few more pictures.

Yeah, this one is nice. Low mileage too.

I wonder what the reserve is ?? Also, has the
black bezels. I wonder if ASC installed the black, most
Capri's i've seen have chrome.

Bezels again ..... Oh No! Sad

I didn't notice the round speaker grilles 'til you mentioned them. See, to me, they look weird (or wrong) as I've only seen mine with the rectangular and 2 others that both had them like mine. I am not saying the round are wrong, don't missunderstand, only that I am so used to seeing the rectangle ones. Maybe all 85s were round, and the switched speakers for 1986 ?? I dunno ~

My guess is that they probably had the square speaker grills and replaced the speakers only to find the old grills did not fit and used the replacement grills.

There were NO rectangular grills for Kenwood 6.5" round speakers that I can find. They were all the square speaker grills. I could check but I don't know if Kenwood was making round grills for 6.5" speakers then too.

I ran into the grill fitment problem when I picked up a nice used set of Kenwood 6.5" speakers on ebay. They had the center tweeter but it stuck up out of the speaker way too far for the square Kenwood covers.

Just a hunch:

They ran out of the speakers, & ordered more from Kenwood, who then supplied them with MY speaker grilles. Is it not true that most all '85s were round and most all 86s were rectangle ?

I can't say if "most" 85s had round speakers. I have only seen a few cars with them. Others have had 6x9s like you have in your car Sandy....but with different oval covers...so its hard to say if the 6x9 covers they had were stock or not (I'm betting not as the Kenwood speaker list doesn't show any oval speaker covers either).

I still think that midway through 85, Ford went from sending asc cars with no rear speaker cutouts to cars with the standard 5x8 rear speaker cutouts and that necessitated the speaker change through 1986.

I really need to take a picture (tonight) and show you just how much smaller the 6.5" speaker holes are than the stock Ford cutouts.

I didn't record that. Just the VIN and saved the pics.
