WOW !
A masterful job, Jayson! I read (and hung onto every word)! You did the car an honor! I wanted more, when I reached the end! Registry?
(and) NEW pics, that even I had not seen prior! Very very enjoyable !

No, Jay. My clock is wrong on here & I am too stupid to know how to fix it, and yes, I read every single word & looked at every picture, many of which were "new" to me !
I am a slow driver, only because our roads are so knocked to pieces with mega sized pot holes, that one has to drive weaving in & out to avoid them. There are hub caps all over the curbs. So, I can't drive fast & weave in & out. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

J,
Excellent job on the web site! It is awesome, much more information!
I have a question, You state this about my car: This car had "show car" listed on the original dealer invoice & is believed to be one of the display area show cars used at the race.
Wouldn't that lead one to believe that the silver cars had a purpose, rather than being choosen at random to fill the build.
I had heard a rumor that team Mclaren had used the silver cars, I wasn't aware team Roush used them.

Not to muddy ther waters even more, but the story I was told by an ascMcLaren employee was that the 3 "most important" people of the race were to ride in the Silver cars and that they were made Silver so as to STAND OUT ~ now, I think they were the Gov. of Michigan, the Mayor of Dearborn & the Race Queen. But THAT part he wasn't 100% positive on..... _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I was told a story very close to the one Sandy has mentioned, by the past owner of my car.

I like this:
The only other model available in 1985 was the GS. For the remainder of the ’85 production run, all 5.0 equipped Capri’s would be the GS model with the Sport Package. Towards the end of the run they would also drop the GS label from the 5.0 cars. The only difference between the RS & GS 5.0 would be the rear quarter panel molding (RS would have the logo sunken into the molding & GS would have a smooth molding). The RS would also have a “Capri RS” decal on the rear hatch & the GS would have “Capri GS” emblems instead. Other than those 2 small differences, the RS & GS 5.0 with the Sport Package were identical.

David | WOW! my baby in the spotlight thanks for using all my photos great job really looks nice. And David my sticker as you may know says "show car" also i would bet all of them read this way? And my GPIV had 400 plus miles on the clock when sold new so someone rode it? _________________ -DAVID-

actually the decals stand out more on the white cars than the silver.
but why have 3 silver cars? silver was the only factory color that would work with the decals.
i dont think mclaren race team used them at the race. The Mercury/Roush team wouldnt of appreciated a competing team using them. remember these cars were built to promote mercury, not asc mclaren.i know
some if not all 3 silver cars were used in the parade as were some white cars. _________________ Jason Ringuette

I like the promo items you got there.
Do you know the vin #'s to the remaining 15 cars ?
Those louvers with the wing looks awesome, but, i bet that hatch won't stay up.

if we knew the vins of the remaining cars there would be more than 18 listed.
sandy can give the story why there are no vins available for 85 on any asc.
something about a crazy bitch who was a disgruntled asc employee. _________________ Jason Ringuette

J,
I don't believe Roush ever fielded a Grand Prix race car, correct me if I am wrong.
