Looking for some basic info. Half of my instrument lights are out in the 86 vert. They have an orange color to the ones that are on. Just a few questions before I start ripping things apart.
1. Can I remove the panel from the front or do I reach up under dash to get at the sockets and bulbs. It looks like the front for the instrument panel unbolts from the top of the dash
2. Can I change the color of the bulb or should I stay with white with orange background
3. Does this model have courtesy lights under the dash near the doors, if they were factory installed, someone ripped them out

Thanks for your help

The cluster lights are reached by removing the cluster assembly. Remove the bezel and the the 4 screws attaching the cluster to dash frame. All from the front. Next reach up front below the dash by the pedals and release the speedo cable, press on the flat tab. Put a cloth over the column and pull the cluster out a bit. Disconnect the battery. You should be able to release the electrical plug on the right side. I don't recall call if there is a second one on the left side like 87-93 has. The cluster should be free at that point.

The dash light colors are due to the bulb covers inside the cluster. I highly recommend Superbtite Leds for an upgrade. Get the color matching Leds for the various 194 lamps.

I don't think the courtesy lights were part of the ASC builds. They were on the regular mustang verts. I don't think the mustangs had the lights in the rear view mirror. The ASC cars used a converted rear view mirror that had the lights piggy backed on the modified factory mirror. There should be a power wire by the mirror mount.

The mustang lights probably could be added but the are fragile plastic. You also have the door panel lights on the ASC.

Hope this helps.
