Sandy, you mentioned a while back the the 85 convertibles mostly came with the rubber whip antenna but some came a power antenna. My car has what seems to be part of a power antenna (no motor). Any ideas what brand they were.
I asked Hank but got the standard pricing ($150?). I think it was probably less but I wanted do some research first. Thanks for any help. _________________ Kevin Gold card MCA Judge for Fox Body

No No No!!
I have never seen a power antenna on any 84 85 nor 86 Coupe **OR** convertible. NEVER !!!!!!!
Waht I said was.... " A few ... very few.... perhaps a handful (5) 1987 MUSTANG ascMcLarens got a Power Antenna." I have two versions of the 1987 Window Sticker from ascMcLaren, an early and a revised. The early one (7/86) lists a "Rear Fender Mount Power Antenna" as STANDARD equipment. The revised window sticker (10/86) has that line deleted! I have come across (I think) 2 such cars with the Pwr. Antenna. The antenna part, that went up & down was black (flat black) while the base was chrome. However, after about 3 to 4 years the black began to rub off and expose silver from underneath.
Sorry, I do not have any paperwork to iondicate the brand used. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Thanks Sandy for the info. I'll be pulling mine out and inspecting it a bit closer. Don't worry, I won't be tossing it just yet. It works fine but no motor to make it go up and down. I'm planning on replacing it with a functional new one. The whip is a pain with a car cover.
I'll check the Ford build sheet that went to McLaren for the extra ford parts that went with the car. I didn't see anything yet that looked like an antenna on the list. _________________ Kevin Gold card MCA Judge for Fox Body

Being that ascMcLaren seem to really stick with Ford parts, my GUESS is that it's a 1984-85 Crown Vic/Grand Marquis/Lincoln power antenna unit. _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
