We know that the Mustang "mules" made by & at FoMoCo, to a special build, put many things onto or into 1987-1990 Mustang LX 2-Door Sedans. Okay.
We also know that a REGULAR 1987-1990 Mustang LX 2-Dr. Sedan could NOT be ordered WITH the the Sport Articulating GT style seats.
We also know that Ford, on the asembly-line for asc/McLClaren installed the GT Sport Articulating seats into the LX 2-Dr. Sedans, destined to go to asc/McLaren. Okay, thus far..
Now then at asc/McLaren those cars CLOTH seat covers were removed and recovered with special asc/McLaren leather coverings. Fine! Now then...
TheCloth covered seats came in red, grey, and beige. The covers were removed, YET they did install the matching seat covers to the car's interior, even though the cloth covers were removed. BUT...... The articulating seats did not come in BLUE So, does anyone know what color cloth articulating seat FORD put into the McLarens with blue interior ?? _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. I actually found a sticker with "Smoke" on it underneath my passenger seat a VERY long time ago.
I may still have it - I'll check and let you know. _________________ 1988 ASC McLaren #709 |

Did they use T-Bird Seats or just the Headrests?

The 87-88 Turbo Coupe coupe had blue sport seats. If they procured the headrests, why not the whole seat? |

When I looked the Tbird pics on the web they used the same Head Rest the Mustangs did, the big bulky one. Not sure what Seats they took them from.

I think the T-Bird seats might have had different attachments and/or been slightly larger. But MAINLY the T-B seats were not in the Mustang plant.
Lastly....if they used the T-B seats & headrests, then.....our headrests would go up & down ! _________________ Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

Not being the the same factory makes sense...
The Turbocoupe Sport seats are the same, just better quality upholstery and the headrest. I have a set in both my McLaren and my 79 Coupe. I am even sitting in one right now that I converted into a chair for my computer. |
