I'm trying to upgrad my alternator to a 3g on my 89 McLaren. The McLaren came with a 130amp Lestek Alternator. Did that Alternator use the 4gauge wire along with the black/orange wires? Should I use the 3g in the same manner or eliminate the black/orange wire and only use the 4 gauge? All the videos I see use the black/orange along with the 4g wire. All the forum write ups i see say don't use black/orange wire. Any help will be appreciated.

I located a stock 89 AscMclaren in Flat Rock Michigan at Riteonauto( he actually had a black 88 and a SVO) i looked in the engine bay and ASC didn't use the black/orange wire(plug) that goes to a stock mustang alternator. They only used a 4-6 gauge wire from the Lestek to the starter relay and the other stock plug.
